First look at the Trumpeter kit. Snagged this for a good price. At first glance the parts look very nice; 900+ parts.
Will do a bit of research to see what if any parts are HEER specific and then decide which version/nationality to do. Adding it to the ever growing stash.

Hmmm....i remember those from my service time in late ´97.We had the M109A3G in our battalion and the MARS-Battalion shared the barracks with ours.At this time, they were tranfered away.Oh,the memories...
Please let the Trumpeter-Kit be good, because i want one of those.
I guess the major differences are the reflecting warning templates front and rear, lights in front and back, indicators, the Leitkreuz at the rear and maybe a rotating beacon for road travel. And i think the track is different from the US-Version.

Looks good so far.
From what I have been able to see on the sprues, you can not build a US M270A1 MLRS from the box. The sprue with the side skirts has all German-specific parts. These include the hand rail around the TCs hatch, side skirts, upturned exhaust, and a few other parts, along with the German Diehl tracks.
The Netherlands version kit has all the parts to make a US M270A1 MLRS minus US decals.

I wish they'd hurry up and release the US version. I've been passing up the dragon kits, waiting for trumpeter to come through.

Knew about the TC hand rail, side skirts and that the tracks were a no/go. Didn't catch that the difference in the exhaust. The maneuver safety markings add some nice color, may just make this one of my next modern German builds and wait for the US version.

Wish Trumpeter would make a M989 MLRS resupply trailer to go with a M985. Hey Gino start a scratch build one and they will make it. HAHA
