Hi,
First: I'm not US armour expert- therefore my question can be funny for some of you Very unique vehicle- therefore I decided to build it in 1/35 scale. But I haven't decided in which camouflage, yet.
I found a boxart of ESCI M163 kit. Is it correct camouflage or only artist's vision of vehicle in MERDC cammo?
Do You have any examples of M163 in multicolor camouflages?
Thanks in advance,
Michal

The boxtop MERDC artwork is a scheme that was used on them.
They were also in overall green.
Sand during Operation Desert Storm (ODS, '90-'91)
NATO 3-color camo.
Along with the above mentioned 7ID MASSTR camo.

Just Google MERDC M163, and you'll get images of the patterns. The MERDC system offered 12 colors total, but used only four per scheme, so a vehicle could theoretically be custom-camouflaged for any environment on earth. In the actual universe, no unit had the man-hours to repaint every time the battalion moved a few hundred miles, or the weather changed, and the Army pretty much gave up on it after a few years. Many units just left their equipment in FS34079 Green, the factory color.
The current three-color NATO scheme replaced it, and the finish is applied in factories or restricted facilities (the new paint is pretty toxic).

Just used this scheme on my M577. Always liked it and the M113 family has nice flat sides to show it off.
