I can't begin to imagine how it feels to be a victim of the weather in Texas. Imagine losing all your models, tools, etc. Obviously not now seeing as how the weather isn't over yet, but in the future when things get better, put aside some stuff to donate to modelers in Texas. Right now I am not exactly sure how to go about finding modelers who lost their stuff and all but we will eventually figure it out so in the meantime, just put some modelling stuff aside for them and we can later figure out how to get the stuff to them. It could be an armorama.com collaborative effort...I want to help them out.

Yours is a noble gesture but I think it will be months, if not a year, until modelers in the Houston area get any bench time. What they need right now are our prayers.

Thank you for your concern Michael
People here need help for sure but please donate to the Red Cross , Houston Food Bank , etc etc .
Please keep more than just the modelers in mind

This storm is unprecedented , I'm in Houston and it's still pounding us and will be ramping up again through the night .
Never seen one go back out to sea to come at us again - didn't know that was even possible .
Of course , more than Houston has been hit , Rockport was destroyed .
Any donation to this disaster will help .

Prayers are nice, but donations are what really help. I have a number of friends / colleagues in Houston, please donate to the charities /disaster relief as per Keith's link.

I sent 100 to the Red Cross already and I encourage others to do so...I can't even imagine how it feels to be in their shoes...couple years back we had an October snow storm and the power was out for 3 days and I thought that was torture...houstons on a whooooooole nother level...

That's awesome , Michael .
Very generous of you , but even if you can give just 5 dollars it will help .

The rain is finally moving off but there is still danger of more homes flooding as rivers crest and there are levees in danger of failure --- not to mention water moccasins , fire ants and in some places displaced alligators along with the contaminated flood water .
Looks like I got about 42 inches of rain where I'm at .
Areas just to my east received more than 50 inches , some approaching 60 inches .

This will be a long recovery -- people are still being rescued

Thank you again for your donation

Another modeler from Houston, I was fortunate to escape without my house flooding so me and my family are okay but like others have said it would be much more beneficial right now to help those not as fortunate with the necessities to start putting their lives back together.

I'm very glad to hear you and your family are OK , Matt
The current #'s are over 200,000 forced from their homes .
That number will rise dramatically - some estimates currently put it @ 350,000
The scale of this is mind-boggling .
I got over 42" of rain on my area , places east of here are well past 50 inches . We received our annual rainfall in 4 days.
There are neighborhoods west of me flooding now as the Brazos river overflows .

I implore anyone with the means to donate what's possible to any of the organisations helping with the recovery .
Thanks .
