Hi
I found model base from Blackdog http://www.blackdog.cz/products/dio/d35048/1.jpg which is probably officers house from US base in Vietnam. This resin base looks great and i would like ti scratch similar object but i was not able to find some reference pictures on internet. Do you have any similar pictures to share with me? Or some advice where to find them?
Thank you all for help.
Martin

That doorway would be for something in the rear (think REMF). In the deployed areas (LZ's and base camps), it would be sand bagged bunkers, and shipping containers that are heavily sand bagged. Still if your on vacation out west, you'll find the use of sand bagged sheet metal culverts to be the standard of fashion.
Building sand bag bunkers is nothing but pure artistic license. No two are the same; yet often similar in size. The only thing they'll have in common is two exits and a flash wall in front of the exits.
The doorway pictured is common in the rear. Basically a large tent roof (or tin) with sand bag walls on the side (four to five feet tall). The front and rear will be what you see in the photo. Floors will be rough sawed wood heavily stained from diesel fuel to kill the fleas. After two or three visits from the local mortar men, the roof will be changed out for tin before the monsoon comes.
