Hi All,
A friend and I are researching M4A1 production at The Lima Locomotive Works. The other day on Bob Holt's fine website about the 752 Tank Battalion, I found a photo of a M4A1 identified as being a Lima built tank here is the link http://www.752ndtank.com/toarno.html
It is the second photo from the bottom. This is the only photo we have found of a LLW tank in actual service. Bob said somebody contacted him and said that they had a high res. copy of the photo and the registration number could be made out. This person had done research on Sherman serial numbers/ registration numbers, and determined this to be a Lima tank. Bob couldn't remember who it was but he said the is one of the sites he frequented while researching his site.
Can anyone out there confirm for me that this is a Lima tank? We also would like to find a good list or cross referance of Sherman serial numbers and registration numbers.Does anyone know of any existing LLW Shermans today?( other than Michael at Bovington)
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
Mike Haines

Welcome aboard Mike.
About the only help I can offer is from the Sherman Register, which you may already know of.
Another possible source may be from The Allen County Museum in Lima, Ohio. They do house infomation concerning the Lima Locomotive Works.
