hi everyone
I'm building the t-80u from xact scale. I found this kit this summer on an austrian site. without hesitation i bought it, because they are very hard to find and aren't being made anymore. They are also very expensive on ebay, i bought it for around 60 dollars. Lucky me!!
Altough it is a very good kit with a lot of details (erablocks, kontact 5 era, brod m wading system, hull, turret, nsvt machine gun) it does has it design flaws and inaccuracies (the horibble tracks, underwhelming barrel, thick sideskirts, horrible towcables, turret shape).
thats why i bought some aftermarket stuff
-voyager sideskirts set
-eureka tow cables
-fruil tracks
-voyager barrel
The build is going very good for now.

what a frustrating job, the barrel from voyager!! a lot of tiny parts. espacialy those straps?, belts? whatever you call them. But when you see the finished metal barrel next to the one from the kit, it is very rewarding! totaly worth the effort and frustration.
Note: this is my first try on a metal aftermarket barrel

Nice work Stef, that barrel looks like it was worth the trouble, I have not tried one yet although I have a couple in the stash.

Very nice work. Looks well worth the effort on that barrel if you have the patience.
