Is there anyone out there that has built the Accurate Armor Warrior kit? And if so is there anything that I should be aware of before I build it? I got this kit in a trade and I like the super crisp detail and all but the instructions are a wee vague. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For other references you can use books by both Osprey (New vanguard) or Concord, unfortunately i'm not at home right now or I'd give the titles.

Can't say I've seen the AA Warrior, but it should be pretty 'accurate' - heh-heh! Maybe a copy of the Academy instructions would help out a bit? Other good references are the Military Ordnance Special #16 from Darlington (OOP but may be able to track down somewhere), Concord's Warrior Mini-color series (#7509) and some early Warriors in Concord's British Army of the Rhine.

Cheers,

You might have something there. I have ordered the Academy Warrior kit also. I am starting to get hooked on the British AFV's. The instruction sheet from Academy's kit might do the trick. Thanks.

Animal, I have never seen it, but I think Accurate Armour's Warrior is quite old kit, made before Academy released their plastic kit. Since Academy released their Warrior, AA only offer update and conversion sets to it, but no longer sell the full kit, so my guess is they accepted that Academy kit is superior or at least good enough to abandon their own more expensive product and just offer upgrades to Academy kit.

Go to the british army website:

www.army.mod.uk

Click on 'kit: uk online', click on full version, then armour, find the warrior and have a look...........Lets u rotate 360 degrees around it.

Also has everything else the British Army currently uses...................... Great refrence stuff!

Let us know if it helps.................

Is the box white with a pasted on label or is the box lid printed. If it's a white box then it's old and I'd watch out for the white metal pieces like the running gear. I had one of these and two Academy Warriors and while the AA one had great detail and saves you from having to get a PE set I sold it because I knew it would give me more gray hairs.

Now with the Academy kit there are some things to look for like ride height and the inaccuracy of the nose armour and some picky stuff like side armor placement but we'll save that for later threads.

Yeah,

I built the Warrior a couple of years back.

Watch out for the camo pole holders very skinney and easy to break.

I replaces all mine with stretched sprue.

Thanks for the tip. I have found that the parts are a little brittle. This kit is a real challenge so far. I can't say that I am getting bored with this one. Patience I find is something you need with this kit. But I will get it built.
