I'd like to see a German artillery crew set WITHOUT wearing every bit of issued kit like Dragon or Tamiya figs. Preferably by Masterbox and similar to their US artillery crew - dressed informally in shirtsleeves; bare top; etc. With poses flexible enough to use for PaK 40's to heavy artillery.

And at least one guy pointing
On a serious note, that is a very good idea, make the crew modular, so that different leg/torso/arms combinations can give you lots of posibilities. Kind of like what masterbox did with the truck passenger set.

There are already a lot of kits out there with German troops out of uniform, shirtsleeves, whatever. There is really nothing artillery specific about the trousers and shirt, only the jacket collar and shoulderboards show the branch of service. Any of these figs could be fit into an arty scene easily.

But not guys who are actually servicing the gun. Most figures without gear are idling away the hours not loading and firing a piece. The age old pose of a guy without gear and and open shirt with his hands over his ears?

Good Day
If you can lower your sights a bit Nemrod made a four figure kit
with 3 figs in rolled up sleaves and one shirtless. 3 of the four are servicing either the gun or 15cm ammo.
Trumpeter's two sets made for thier 15 cm artillery piece have a mix of shirted and full uniform including the gent with hands over ears and the obligitory pointer. They are either servicing the gun or ammo. Not quite Masterbox but shows there out there.

There are several fig sets by MB and maybe Miniart that show troops servicing tanks. With just the slightest amount of work and imagination they can be used for arty. I am trying to offer solution, not start an argument. Just to be clear.

Yes, I know MiniArt make nice tank servicing figures, BUT they are panzer troops, with panzer pants and boots, and they're not even basically posed for loading guns, or preparing ammo, etc. A generic artillery crew, such as Master Box's US Artillery crew set, would be very nice. (Hint, hint...to Masterbox).
Those 4-man gun crew sets are totally inadequate for anything bigger than a 37 mm AT gun.

A bit expensive but Hobby Fan has done some artillery types both German and US.
