My next build is Tamiya's M2A2 ODS, so being a former Bradley crewman (M2A1), I know the early M2A2's had the "old style" seating, but what about the the early ODS versions? So can I use the interior from a M2A1 or will I have to scratch build the newer ODS interior for a OIF (2003 Invasion timeframe) build?

Not 100% sure but in addition to the LRF I believe one of the big changes was bench type seating.

ODS version was developed after ODS using some of the lessons learned. M2A2 and M2A2 ODS are different beast.

ETA: Oops...I see that pic is from OIF my bad. Like I said not 100% sure.

I know that. Just wanted to show it was possible to build a OIF M2A2 with "old style" seating...

Are you sure that isn't a M3A2 or M3A2 ODS and not a M2A2/ M2A2 ODS?

On the M3 CFV series, the rear hull top vision blocks are fitted to the hatch, contrary to the M2 (fitted to the hull roof) :

M3 series (the pictured one is a M3A3) :

"FIRST TO FIGHT" David!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As Frenchy pointed out, there was a mixture of Bradley's that had the two types of seating. And if you look closely at the picture that Frenchy posted, it looks like the crew even removed the seats in the center. I have a bunch of Bradley picture on my external hard drive that I found to help me with the Thunder Run museum project. Will check here in a few minutes.

As shown above most of the M2A2 ODS vehicles used by 3 ID in the initial invasion had the older seating arrangement since they were older, rebuilt M2A2 ODSs. Most of the new-build M2A2 ODSs had the bench seating. Some of the rebuilds had them too though. It just depended how new they were or how far along in the upgrade process they were.

"VICTORY!"

Thanks, I would appreciate that.

On a side note is the muesum at Ft. Stewart operational yet? I know it wasn't in Feb. 2016 when we was having our Reunion there.

Thanks for the info. I will use the M2A1 interior with some modifications.

As of last April, it was mostly open. The Thunder Run room with the models that some of us built is fully outfitted. There were a few exhibits as well. The rest was still a work in progress. I think it was supposed to be done soon though.

Gino,
Didn't 3-15 Infantry have the bench style seating?

That might change my build.

I was 3-15 Inf (C co.) when the 24th Id was at Ft. Stewart.

From the pics I have of 3-15 INF M2A2 ODSs, they had the older, individual seating, but most were removed and replaced with wooden storage boxes as troop seats.

This is a 3-15 INF M2A2 ODS (43 Bn ID).

A closer view of the crew area of a different 3-15 Brad.

David, you should PM our own 18bravo (Robert Skipper.) He has great interior and exterior photos available of many Bradley configurations. His albums are reasonably priced for the number of good quality photos he can send. I have his Bradley album. There are so many great photos that I haven't had the chance to look at all of them yet!

Regards,

Eric

Well that settles the question on the interior. Going with this since its 3-15 Inf. Would you happen to have any other pics of 3-15 Bradleys to share?

One more question about color...our Bradleys were Sand FS33351, it looks like the M2A2 vehicle color is a darker sand, so what is the new FS color number?

FS 33531 Sand by Testors Model Master still look closest to my eye, esp. once dirtied up and weathered.
