Scratch building the IDF Urdan Dozer Blade for my upcoming Puma build. Reference are limited and all taken from Desert Eagle Publishing and Israeli Wild and Cruel Cats. I have to do my own scale drawing to get this right for this scale.

Here are a few progress.... Details will be fully added once all the main structures is done. I will then make my own copy from the master I made and gauge interest.

Off to a good start, following this one. For some reason engineer vehicles have always interested me, but I was never an engineer. Loved digging holes when I was a kid though.

I will watch this myself. I considered scratching it myself. If you cast this I will be interested. Have you been to the urdan website. They have some information including videos of the plow raising and lowering.

Thanks gents. I will cast this once my master are all complete and I will see if its good enough. Got a big support from expert here so hopefully things will go smoothly and I can produce this blade for IDF fans especially the IDF puma (including myself).

Val. I do like what you are building. I got a kick, seeing the Blade mounted to a M1 Abrams.

Thanks Gents.

Time for some updates. The build is going ok but very slow due to other commitments. I also need to comb through every details i can possibly make at this scale and also keeping an accurate angles and proportion. I want this to be as close to the real thing as I can. The blade is almost complete. Next is the attachment to Hobby Boss Puma. Once completed mould making will commence and hopefully my pressurised casting will give me the best result possible. Stay tune. Total individual parts made for the blade alone is 60 pieces minus hydroelectric box and attachments.

Top view. I will add details bolt by bolt until I'm happy with it.

Here you can see the side blade shaped as in the original blade.

Side view and details. Not done yet, I have to add the manual chain attachment on the side and the number.

Hydroelectric box. This is small and had some complicated angles.

A view from the under side... details to be added.

Big thanks to those who helped with reference especially to Mr. Michael Mass - Author of Desert Eagle IDF series.

That's a good way to not spend €50 on the now very rare resin version that used to be available!

When you said "gauge interest" above, were you suggesting casting some up in resin? I would imagine you'd be deluged with interest as it a glaring omission from the canon of IDF armour. I'd certainly have one for my yet to be started Puma.

I'm definitely up for one of these if it ever sees the light of day in resin.

Right, its been sometimes since I updated this thread. Some free time to continue this project. Many thanks to Pumaram (Paul thank you) for helping me out.

Most of it is done. I have to detail the bottom of the dozer and the bolts underneath. I have to attach the hydraulic ram and its swivel attachment to the bottom of the blade and that's done. Some minor detailing such as the retaining shaft pin.

Here are a couple of detail/walk around of the scratch built blade and its very complicated attachment. This is a workable blade able to be deployed and stowed in exactly the same as the real one. I also designed it to be detachable from the tank like the real one.

Every single detail that I can see on my reference is replicated and nothing is left out.
All the styrene shaft pin are temporary hence the length.

You can see the details here of the structure. I have removed the hydraulic electric power pack. Blade extended
