Am I right in saying that all the MErkava I hybrids have the no slip surface? Just received my Takom kit and notice there isn't any. Just wanted to be sure before I add my own. Thanks

PS- are there Merkava I patterns online to show what areas have it?

In case they did have anti-slip coating, probably it was identical to the Mk.II's, i.e. all horizontal surfaces (hull and turret).

Thanks- I'll use those for references. If I don't hear anything official, I think I am just going to add it.

I would say initial Mk.I's probably didn't have it, whereas Mk.I "Meshupar" variants (in Hebrew "Improved") - as these are actually closer to the Mk.II - probably did have it. Having said that, some original Mk.I's might have been retrofitted with anti-slip coating as well. Just guessing though...

There are plain Merkava Mk.I in the production line clearly showing very fine anti-slip brushed on the hull before the final paint coat. Pics from the same series show the vehicles just finished outside the factory with anti-slip both in hull and turret. Some Merkava Mk.I in training appear to sport anti-slip just on the hull but with a clean turret. So seems the anti-slip was being trialled/applied before the Mk.II, with maybe some tanks getting it just over the hull.
