I remember my father having one of these here in Canada that we used up at the cottage. It was a little beast, and I definitely need to have this one.

According to the caption, this Russian military vehicle called 'Intelligence Patrol automobile', or RDA-1 is based on a Niva chassis :

Oh yeah! I guess the only LADA that sold and still sells very successfully worldwide. None of the current SUVs out there can compete with this guy when it gets to real off road

Probably the only Soviet/Russian-made (non-military) car that was/is really appreciated in the Western world too and pretty much the only one that is still around in Western Europe these days. It's a tough, reliable, great off-roader. I'm happy to see in it 1/35.
