Another excellent figure from Alpine miniatures, one of the newest offerings. Superb detail and casting, represents a NCO from 1st parachute division in Italy with tropical uniform-tropical pants and jump smock, either in Fieldgrau or Splittermuster/Splinter camo. I want to try the latter. Also choice from two type heads with helmets-standard and with cover.

I'm starting this figure, for the helmet I used Luftwaffe blue and with hairspray chipped the Desert yellow.

Cheers!

Continuing with the camo, I used German camo beige for the base and brown and green blotches from Panzer Aces.

Cheers!

Thanks, Jerry!

Proceeding with the splinter strips or raindrops, they are very small, but they should be-like on the real camo. Also I painted the equipment.

Closer picture, strips can be seen here:

It's almost ready, I have to make the MP-40 sling and glue it. The weapon is painted with Gunze Mr.Metal color Dark iron and polished for metal sheen.

Cheers!

I tried to represent the Luftwaffe eagle on the helmet. I know there's very nice set of Archer dry transfers, but they are very hard to find, so I opted for hand painting.

Wow. Just wow. Any chance to do a SBS? As someone who struggles with camo I would really appreciate it if you can tell me what sort of witchcraft is needed to paint the raindrops so well.

The figure looks great, just like the Hetzer.

It's not hard to find the Archer set, http://www.archertransfers.com/FG35044.html
Pretty sure you can order direct, as I don't think Archer excludes any countries.

Thanks!

I looked at their site, but 10 USD shipping for small decal sheet is not an option for me

I did the MP 40 sling from Tamiya tape. I attached it by drilling small gaps and pass the tape there. That way the strap will not detach from the gun and is more realistic ;)

Hi,
I applied them with sharp point Kolinsky brush and quick strokes. First try on separate paper sheet, then on the figure
I have video painting the figure, watch after 29min : video
