Only two crew members with body armour. The sitting one is useless in my mind.
Are they good for Afghanistan theater?

The guys in green Flecktarn are good for European theater, the guys in desert flecktarn could be used in Afghanistan and Europe.

Judging from her pose she wouldn't be inside anyway, so even more obvious.

Well, but obviously just in general tank training, because using a seargent as loader is quite a waste She's in there for commanders training. We even used Corporals as commanders on the Leopard 1. Drivers, loaders and gunners all enlisted guys like me Could have used an NCO as driver here and there, because driving a tank properly needs some more training I think...
You can nicely see the blue training warheads on the ammo and how the shell almost completely burns when firing. Means you're having basically no real shell left (we called the remains "ashtray" in my active time) which helps a lot in increasing the fire rate. Leopard 1 still had to remove all those empty shells from the basket after 5 shots... But getting here...
To the figures: Yes, the sitting woman is most definitely somewhere outside, probably sitting on top of the turret.
