Here are a couple pictures of my work on the Takom Merkava Hybrid. It's a great kit as far as details and fit. I can't speak to it's accuracy, however.

I masked with thin masking tape and liquid mask and sprayed using a rattle can of Rustoleum Textured paint.
Construction was straightforward, a couple wrong part numbers in the instructions, but it all went together smoothly.

Any chance Takom supplies a diagram of where the anti-slip goes?

A bit more progress- ran out of Sanai grey 82, unfortunately. Stowage basket is a bit fiddly to assemble.

after spraying the rustoluem, my guess next step using used brush to texture it?
I once use tamiya liquid glue to get the anti skid, result not very satified, finally I decided to use fine sand using white glue to glued it fine sand.

Actually, I mist on the Rustoleum from a maybe 18 inches to 2 feet away, spray maybe 2-3 light coats and that's it. No further brushing or texturing. The key is light coats and not getting too close.

FYI- Takom has you cut the tow cables 105mm long- not quite long enough.

I have the major assemblies done and everything is ready for paint. I will be removing the antennas and redoing them, since I bent them while handling it.

Looks great! I presume the ball and chain armor is molded plastic that came in the kit? I’m curious, as I’m waiting on delivery of the regular Takom Mk1; they apparently haven’t made into all dealers’ stock yet.

Yes it is. I was going to carefully twist and bend it so it wasn't uniform, but the takom plastic is sort of brittle. The first one I tried broke off with the slightest twist, so I'm abandoning that idea.Looks great! I presume the ball and chain armor is molded plastic that came in the kit? I used Ammo's Real Sanai as a base and then lightened it with faded Sanai grey, but it seems awfully dark. Opinions?
Haven't fixed the antennas- that is going to be last so I don't bend them again

I think the paint is just right. I’m in the same situation as you have in your Merkava right now.

Thanks- you put that kit out of the direct light and it really looks brown.

I like the color shade too...
If it gets darker with the varnishes and waethering you can always fade it with a light grey filter before dusting.

Thanks. In the picture it doesn't look too bad, but when I take it out of the direct light it is a light chocolate color. It's bothering me.
