My recently completed AFV Club 1967 Shot Centurion. Any opinions would be appreciated. This was pretty much out of the box, except for a Lionmark turret (which included the 'canvas' mantlet cover), and Fruil tracks, which had each 6th link trimmed as per typical IDF practice, to prevent tracks from being bent and prevent changes from taking place. I also decided to create handles out of metal wire on the turret and turret stowage compartments, which I think made quite a bit of difference. I left the molded handles in place on the skirts, but wish I had done the same kind of handles there.

A few more Shot Centurion photos... The third photo is my first attempt at using the chipping fluid method. I know this is standard practice for many of you, but it was my first try. I found it to be quite easy, and will be using this method a lot going forward.

Very nice build Curt, nice weathering, nice touch with the tracks, I had forgoten about that detail on IDF Centurions.

Thanks so much! I actually tried to limit the amount of weathering. I wanted it to look like it had gone through combat, but not looking like it had sat out in the weather for 50 years, which I think a lot of tank models tend to do. If mine looks that way, then I didn't accomplish what I was hoping for. I was pleased with the chipping on the muffler cover, though I may have overdone that a bit, too.

Super job and the detailing is outstanding. You've really nailed the look of a 'battle tested veteran'. Only thing that would add more to that would be adding a Tank Commander. Again, quality workmanship. Thanks for sharing,

Hey Mike, thanks for the compliments! One of the areas where i'm incredibly weak is with figures! Maybe I should try to push the boundaries and give an IDF tanker a try!

Not a criticism of your work but it may be helpful to others building Meteor-engined Cents; there was only one aux gen and it was on the left, so there shouldn't be a second exhaust outlet for it on the right, just in front of the silencer for the main engine exhaust. AFV Club appears to have assumed that the arrangement was symmetrical.

Robert, thank you for the comments...I actually was looking for critiques, but I read in the stickie for the Constructive Feedback section that only work-in-progress can be posted there, otherwise that’s where I would have posted this.
Regarding the DON10 cable, what does that look like? Secondly, I’m amazed that you noted those tiny exhaust pipes!! Wow...incredible attention to detail! You are correct that the instructions, as best I can recall, had both pipes installed. I’m not at home but will check later. It might be difficult to remove the one on the right at this point, but I’ll certainly take a look at how hard it would be. I’d like to make this as accurate as possible!!

Thanks Ken. On the cables, honestly, I used the kit supplied string! I dipped the string in Tamiya Metallic Gray, let it absorb for a few seconds, pulled out the string, blotted it dry, then let it sit for a few hours to fully air dry. I was kinda surprised myself that it turned out like this.
One other point. The paint, when dried, stiffened the string sufficiently that it even felt like metal cable (at that scale, anyway). I won’t be so fast to throw away string or fabric representations of cable in the future, at least not until I try to paint it and see how it turns out!

D10 cable is just green plastic-coated comms wire - it's pretty thin (2mm based on the reel I have in the garage) so 0.06mm in 1/35. I have a recollection that the wire is sometimes covered by an OD fabric strip which fills the gap between the two faces of the reel, which might save you some winding work.
Re the aux gen exhaust, it's just one of those things I look for - I didn't spot it by accident!

I may even try to make and install a battle board, or whatever the IDF calls their number panels on the side of a turret. I was so excited to have the tank ‘done’ that I forgot that little detail.

Looks very nice! I also don't like heavy weathering, as usually it depicts vehicle that has lost its fortune. It has either been bogged down badly, either nearly shot to pieces. Even looking at Panzerwrecks series i still see that vehicles have been well maintained until the very last moment. There are good and bad days of course, but it doesn't mean armor is supposed to look like 
Back to your kit, there's one thing i would address. That's water canister on turret. It has clear delimiter mark along mounting frame, so unless it was partially covered with tarp, it should be more uniform. Easy fix tho.

Thanks for the compliments and comment, Darius. I had noticed myself that I'd only gotten 'dust' on the lower half of the turret mounted water can...I should have just hit it with a bit more dust. Thanks for pointing it out!
And...to Israel...I shall work on Tactical Markings soon. I think tank needs those...it looks lonely without them!

For Robert Lockie and Darius, just wanted you guys to know know I fixed the missing dust on the turret water can, and I added the missing cable around the reel...though I just left the extra aux exhaust...too hard to fix, at least for me.

Hi Curt,
I have a thing for IDF armour but especially like the rusting on the exhaust shroud, that's really nicely done. i don't think it's overdone either, when I was on MBT we had Centurion ARV's and it looks just like theirs did. The tow ropes came out well also.
