Did the Mk 3 Merkava's use the droid?

This is a Mk.III (I think) with a covered droid (I think) on top. Nevertheless, I saw both Mk.IIB and D equipped with it, therefore it's pretty safe to assume that some Mk.IIIs have them too.

Interestingly, I'm unable to find any references for the above mentioned application. I have pictures of droid equipped Mk.IIs (both B and D), Mk,IVs, Nagmachons, Nakpadons, Pumas and Achzarits, but not the Mk.III...
It's hard to say from this angle and I'm still not 100% sure, but I think it is actually a Mk.III. The remains of the unit marking on the port side front mudguard seem to support my theory.

I too have never seen a Droid on a Merkava III.

The photo mught be of an instructor's chair and not of a droid under canvas, but it is my speculation.

I think that we may be looking for after market weapon stations for our Merkava IIIs...

Or it is some kind of training device.
