Hi,

I am building the Dragon 1/16 scale figure and was wondering if there are Tamiya equivalent colours that I can use or mix for the uniform? Also, what would be a good idea to use for the strips on top of the helmet?

TIA

Hi Brad, I personally use Vallejo paints for all uniforms so can't really help in that department but if you google model paint comparison charts you will get lots of results for the various manufacturers. The stuff that goes over/ ties to the helmet netting is called 'scrim', it was hessian material either in green and or brown. For my 1/35 Paras I use little balls of green stuff putty and flatten it out then cut it into strips and detail it with a pin, press it onto the helmet netting, once hard then paint.
I've also used aluminium foil from the supermarket which is already nice and thin, again cut it into scale strips, try to paint the strips before glueing to the helmet though as it can be hard to paint.....hope this helps! Cheers, Jason
