Hello everyone, I have been having the modelers blues for a little while now...I had been working on dio stuff and thought that would help it but it really didnt seem too so I decided to pull out this tamiya king tiger r/c tank out of my stash pile to work on. I started it last tuesday and this is where it is as of today. I'm not getting picky with the detailing as it will crash into things I am sure. But have a look and tell me what you think. All comments welcome :-)
Now remember its a work in progress so any thoughts or ideas are welcome. Cheers Kevin

Looks good Kevin. I think you have a great start keep it going. The paint job is great and I love the fading. Hit it with some pastels or a wash and it should be fine.

Love the Paintjob Jackhammer, I'm currently repainting my King Tiger. I did the dark yellow with the brown stripes....but didn't like the way it turned out...so back to the drawing board!

What kind of R/C will you use?I want one of these Tanks or should I say at least two so me and my father can through a tank battle in the backyard. Are they real straight forward instructions for the tank or you need to do some assuming with them.
Thanx
AJ
PS.Great Tank keep up the good work Sorry got carried away about me wanting one.

Thanks for the comments guys. Petro its 1/35th scale, and AJ its a tamiya kit that includes the radio and everything but the batteries. Its very straight forward to build and fairly easy to assemble, typical tamiya. Cheers guys Kevin

Hmm....should have notice by the roll of tape in the background that it was 1/35....mines 1/16....lots more paint needed... AJ - the 1/35 r/c tanks are pretty straight forward....more or less a plastic kit with the motorization and radio equip. 1/16 different story. But in either case as long as you read the instructions thoroughly a couple of times, and then follow them, any of the Tamiya R/C tanks are pretty straight forward (however the big ones are very nice to the wallet!!)

I think for a "crasher" you did a real good job with the weathering and construction. As you said, no need for all the super detailing stuff we guys like to add to it. Let me know how it goes maybe I need to build one just to drive around the house

Very good job you did on this KT ..If you really want to get picky ,this KT did not have the crosses on the turret and there is quite a debate on whether or not the numbers were just Dark yellow instead of yellow and blue as supplied in the tamiya kit...But if you just built one without trying to be historically correct ..it looks great ...Ain't it fun just to build an OOB once and a while ...got me out of my slump I was in last year..hope it works for you .

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. I really appreciate all comments :-) JeJack I really would like to see some pics of the build up of your KT I am interested in that 1/16th r/c tanks by tamiya, i just havent been able to justify the cost to myself with that one lol but if I saw some pics who knows just maybe. Blaster76 I will keep you posted as to how it all works out. The Bear I wasn't sure about the iron crosses when I was getting to the decals and I almost started to research it. But I stopped myself and decided its not for display its for fun so just do what I want. "No Research" lol and yes I beleive building this kit has brought me out of my slump. Cheers Kevin

Jackhammer, unfortunately I didn't take any pics of the building process on the KT (didn't have a digicam at the time) But have been taking pics of the Tiger I and Pershing I'm building. Will take some new pics of the KT once the painting is done, but until then, this is a pic (albeit a blurry one) of the three big ones! Need to get my hands on a Shermie now!!
