Seems to be several of these kits out there of this interesting softskin. A back-to-back would be interesting.

This is NOT a review. It is a pointless video taking more than one hour to open a box, cut open plastic bags and look at the plastic sprues. What a waste of time. The "/reviewer" has no idea of the subject and cannot make any comments on the accuracy or buildability of the kit. This is the FIRST and ONLY 1/35th model of this classic WW2 British vehicle. IBG has so far produced a Scammel breakdown version and intend to produce a tank transporter. The Thunder Models Scammel is superb and the basic vehicle is far superior (in my opinion) than the IBG model.......and I have BUILT both, not just looked at the sprues.

You may be right that the ‘review’ could have been more detailed.
Some historical and/or technical background would have been an extra. However: the trouble was taken to give us a view into the box (thus saving us a trip to our local hobbyshop and even more convenient to those who have to order via the web). I got, and I am sure quite some others as well, an impression where to spend the money on now.
So, your comment is, for sure unintended, rather sharp! One should thank the reviewer for taking us with him.

But since you have built the both models anyway, why not sharing some pictures with us in order to underline your statement?
I guess you may be right that the detailing by Thundermodels is more and more correct, but your pictures could really help us.

Well I guess he's right about the non-review part insofar, as it really is no review by review-definition standards (and I don't want to sound sharp in any way here, just plain analytic): There is no background info or knowldegde on the subject presented in any way (at least not displayed), no evaluation from the modellers/reviewers perspective whatsoever, no contextualization/comparison or anything the likes, no personal opinion marked as such, no backed professional opinion marked as such... so yeah, it is actually no review, as sad as this might sound. It is rather a look into the box. A rather extensive one and it gives you a very good impression on whats in there and whats not... but that's it I guess. We still need to see a review coming our way...

they just use the wrong term "/review" it's a nice "Openbox" but thanks to everyone use is own time to do that becose i dont have much choice i can go to a little LHS if i am lucky once every 1-2 months,besicaly i buy the 99% of my stuff online and video like this one help me a lot....

rdlocke... i invite you to do your own review then. You do not have any information about me having the ability of commenting about the buildability of the kit. The Scammell Pioneer is basically the same, as transporter, breakdown tractor or Arty tractor so it`s not the first or the only one. It is however the first TRAILER and that isn`t as clasic as the tractor. Last but not least i don`t really care what you think a review is, i`ve been doing this for over 3 years now and so far you are the only one having an issue with it. It`s a KIT REVIEW not a history lesson

Thanks for putting up this review Seb. I have bought the kit and watched your video beforehand.

It is a great kit, which, while not really suitable for the beginner, is a very satisfying build and includes a wealth of detail. i am not aware of any inaccuracies, I can say though that Thunder have at least got the windscreen pillars vertical, which is more than can be said for the IBG recovery version.

My only gripe with the kit is the tyres.. they are well deigned, being multi piece to give a great tread, on the fronts at least, but they are quite ballooned. The rear tyre tread patterns are nothing like i have seen before, so i would recommend replacing the wheels and tyres on the kit. LZ Models have resin replacements available already.

All in all, this is a great kit and is a complete bargain.

For the wheels I´d like to recommend to cut away the positive locator rings from the "tyre-rings". Then the parts will fit spot on. If you do not the tyre parts will have to be forced into their position bringing the wheel slightly out of proportion.

I can't see any of the thick attachment points anywhere.
