According to the News pages over at PMMS:
http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/newkitnews/balaton.html
Balaton seems to be working on a resin and PE kit for the M6
High Speed Tractor.
I hope it's more real than the Rhino Models Aprils fool joke from a few years ago, mentioned here:

If true then good news. I would much prefer a reasonably priced M5 HST.

On a side note, the M6 HST Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension is not the same as the Sherman one...

I think the sprocket endplates were the same :-), but even the tracks were different. The museum piece looks to have the T84 variant tracks that were adopted after the war.

I think I can just possibly live with the post war tracks
I haven't seen this (the correct ???) type of tracks as an aftermarket item.

Grousers/Chevrons on some type of "skeletal" track ?
This would be REALLY cool though

Nah you wouldn't, because they (T73) were only used on the M6 HST. Ordnance approved the T84E2 designation and authorized buying 200 pairs of T84E2 tracks on the day after Hiroshima. The similar T80E2 steel tracks came along in 1949.
