I've informed them about that 'Bat' should be 'Bet'. Hope they'll change it. Bat in Hebrew usually means 'Girl'

But why they call it M109A2 when it is clearly M109A1..

Since AFV club just did an M113 and now has a M54 in the works, is it too much to hope that they'll do the Vietnam guntruck that had the M113 in the bed of a five ton truck?

Their M54 kit has a slightly different bed than what was issued when I was there. not sure it's still not doable, but still a little different. Also an issue with the winch. Never saw anybody have one exactly like that one. Our winches were mounted on the front of the bumper with a lever on one side (maybe right side?)
Think AFV would have done better with a strait M109. Not an A anything. Also time for a new M110 / M107 / M578

But the Tamiya have the suspension arms molded on the hull, whereas the new AFV club kit has the arms seperate with the holes for the torsion bars. The 113 in the back of the M54 had had the suspension arms and torsion bars pulled.

As far as I know M54 had two type of bed. The first one (as dipincted by AFV) had a front part with fixed side door and the other folding. The second one had fixed side door.

Maybe yours had the cable tensioner.

Great! A Magach from AFV. With luck the Urdan cupola will be nice. Now please do the M60.

My unit had both variations battalion trains as well an ancient mogas powered 5
ton. This series of trucks were in inventory for a long time with numerous updates and refurbishing . The data plates I saw often extended all the way down the dashboard with all the rebuilds.

Somebody needs to tell them to please use the T-142 tracks in the Magach, much more common.

I'm pretty sure it's not an A1. While the A1 replaced the shorter barreled M126 gun with the longer barreled M185, the A1 still had the opening in the top of the turret with the cover that raised up to allow the panoramic telescope to be extended above the top of the turret for laying the gun. This kit has the enclosed ballistic housing to protect the pantel which wasn't introduced until the A2 version. I was in a DS battalion in Germany from 1972-1975 and we replaced our base M109 short tubes with M109A1s in mid 1973 and they did NOT have the ballistic covers for the pantel and that meant that the pantel was still subject to getting wet when it rained or snowed. We still had not converted to A2s when I left the battalion in 1975.

it appears that my comment about the winch is incorrect, but also ours was a little different from the kit. The bumper was shaped differently than what AFV shows in their CAD image. Do not remember the auto tensioner on ours, but it might have been there. The trucks were new issue in the winter of 1966/67. Just never saw the style of bed AFV shows, but would love to have had that style.
Back to the winch a second or so. We always seemed to have more cable that space to put it back on the cable reel! So we'd simply wrap the cable around the bumper in a figure eight. I remember there being a lever on one side of the winch. Unlike most folks, we did use the winch a little bit; most pulling out a stuck bull dozer or truck (mud).
That dozer we used to pull out was a Sea Bee piece of equipment. Little bitty thing that was about the size of a VW Beetle. Wish somebody would kit one of them as they were fairly common.

Israelis replaced that raised cover with armored housing from A2 version, but it doesn't make it A2. What identifies this kit as A1 based, not A2, is a short turret. The A2 had long turrets - with bustle ammo storage extension. Apparently Israelis modernized their A1s, but did not add the extended bustle ammo storage.
