Folks,

I've recently acquired a Trumpeter FAUN SLT-56 and am probably going to load a Gepard or M577 on the trailer. I've trawled the internet for photos and reviews for the build and have purchased the WWP book on 'Bundeswehr Tank Transporters'.

My question is does anyone have decent images or a a TM with this vehicle's tie down arrangements?

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Paul, if it's the 1/35 Faun you have MR Modellbau do a set of turnbuckles and chains specifically for it.

Hi!
Heavier vehicles are connected to the gooseneck with telescopic bars (you can see that on the detail pictures from the link). At the rear, these vehicles are fixed with chains. I also recommend the set from MR Modellbau.

Smaller vehicles (as their lower hull and its towing eyes are sometimes not high enough for the bars, are secured with chains at the front and rear. Wheeled vehicles are also secured with chains front and rear.

Cheers, I went to the site and was all prepared to buy a couple of sets until the postage charge of 42 Euro came up!

That's almost AUD$64 just for postage :-)

I will try scratch building the chains.
