We are looking for pictures for our website gallery and for advertising purposes of any AFV's painted with Tru-Color Paint. If any modeler has pictures of any AFV's that have assembled, painted and/or detailed with Tru-Color Paint, we want to hear from you.
Not only will your pictures be shown on our gallery that is being established just for military models on our website, they may also show up as advertising pictures in several magazines we already advertise in. Your pictures may even show up as part of the banner ad on this forum !
If anyone has pictures they would like to share with us and the modeling community, post them here or send us an email with them attached. We will acknowledge your name (if you give us the OK) on the website and in any advertising where we use your picture(s).
Thank you for your help and we look forward to hearing from many of you. Remember ALL Tru-Color Paint products are manufactured in Phoenix, AZ, USA !

Please excuse my ignorance but how long have these paints been on the _military_ modelling market? I first heard of them about a month ago maybe so, there might not be many models around. I also looked in the two major German modelling online shops and haven't found any of your products.
How about looking up some of the "big shots" on this or other forums and offering them a set of paints? Maybe even a model kit in case you are targeting a certain era. This way you might get more focused and better looking results. As an alternative, some modelling magazines offer the kits and paints to their contributors when an article is commissioned. Just my two cents!
Disclaimer: I'm not considering myself a "big shot" and not looking for freebies either!

I have a couple of kits(Axis&Allied WW2), up for paint. If I were to obtain some paints, within a week, I could be done by Christmas.

Cristian:
Thank you for your response. Officially our Military product line was released on Sept. 1, 2017. However, we have sent over 1000 bottles out in all 3 major military modeling ares - armor, U.S. naval ships and U.S. aircraft as samples for 6 months prior to that to hobby shops in U.S., IPMS and other modeling shows (for demos and door prizes) and to all the magazines and online forums for review. We know 100+ shops gave out these samples to modelers for them to try so was hoping some painted a model or 2 that was already completed.
Although we have 4 U.S. distributors (who are general hobby sellers) for the military line right now we are working on to expand that with MMD-Squadron and Sprue Brothers to carry the lines. That would give us 2 dedicated military only distributors and retailers to bring our paint lines to the military modeler in a big way. Also, Randy Short of Snyder and Short (specializing in Naval Ship models, books, etc.) will be placing an order this week for the naval ship colors.
The IPMS Craig Hewitt chapter members in Phoenix, AZ (where are located) have been very helpful in building models and using our paint - Mike Megee for ships, Evan Dunsford for AFV's and Kevin for bi-planes.
Petr Ostov in Germany has expressed interest at being a distributor for our paint in Europe.
The more people try our paint, the modeling community will become familiar with how easy our paint is to use. It sprays with little to no thinning at 28-35 PSI with any make air brush. It is nearly impossible to get runs with our paint. It cleans up with acetone so you are ready to paint a 2nd, 3rd or even a 4th color the same day as the paint dries in 20-45 minutes.
Hope you will try the paint for your projects. We love getting feedback from modelers.

If you send us your address, we are willing to send you up to 3 bottles of paint for you to try on your WWII armor. We could send one of the OD Greens, a rust, a mud or any of the other colors in the military and ancillary lines. You can choose, or we could send what we think is appropriate.

I can try it and send photos if you would be willing to send a bottle to Sweden (across the Atlantic past Great Britain and continue northwest across the North Sea).
I could use some Dark Yellow (Dunkelgelb) för a "monochrome" Versuchsflakwagen, Bronco 35174. The build has just started ...
Send Message if interested ....

Bernard:
We have 1 shop in Australia that carries our railroad line of paints: Southern Cross Trains. No one has stepped up yet to carry the military or automobile lines.
If you will tell us what you would like - armor, ship or aircraft and what era we would be willing to send you up to 3 samples of paint for you to try and for us to get pictures for our use. We need your shipping address !
You can email us at: [email protected] if you do not want to post the info to this thread.
This offer applies to any modeler (we will support the first 12 requests) as long as you share your project with pictures that we can use for our gallery and for advertising purposes.
Looking forward to hearing from you and any others who wish to use our fine paint products.

David:
Thank you for your reply to the thread. Yes, we have released the TCP-1000 to TCP-1010, TCP-1012 to TCP-1015, TCP-1017 and the modern colors, TCP-1042-1045. This will allow the modeler to paint most capital ships (aircraft carriers, battleships, cruisers, etc.) from 1941 to 1945 in use in the Atlantic and Pacific and all of the modern era.
The colors from 1930's to 1941 will be released early next year and the greens and browns used in the Pacific theater to landing craft, PT boats, etc will be released later in 2018.
All colors are available in 1 and 2 oz. bottles. You can call us with an order or email us, whichever you prefer.
Looking forward to serving your paint needs.

Send us your shipping address in an email and we will send you up to 3 bottles of paint for you to try as long as we get pictures of the model in progress and when completed. We should have a color that is a close match to Dark Yellow for the model you are doing.

I would very like to give your paints a try. Unfortunately, the only two hobby shops that carry your line are 16 miles away and can't tell me if they carry the color I'd like to try.
I can't order directly from your website. Nor can I determine if you have the paint that I'm interested in. When I do a search for Olive Drab, I get some vague result about Navy Gray camouflage.

Thank you for your reply. We have 4 Olive Drab colors in the product line. Although most conventional wisdom say there are only 2 OD greens, Ethan Dunsford who is the president of the SW section of AMPS has worked with us to develop 4 distinct OD Greens. These are as follows:
So we cover pre-war, the Korean War and WWII.
You may order direct from us. All colors are available in 1 oz. ($ 5.69) and 2 oz. $ 10.25 size bottles. Shipping within the U.S. is a flat fee of $ 8.75 for up to 10 bottles (1 oz.) or 6 2 oz.
You may email or call us with your order.

We have been getting a few pictures from AFV modelers that used Tru-Color Paint on their builds. We would like to see more ! If any modeler has used the Tru-Color Paint products for painting the main part of your project or even some detailing of the vehicle, we would be interested in getting pictures of your item for our website and for advertising purposes.
It makes no difference what era you have or the model being painted. Anybody have pictures for us ?

Our military paint line is now in about 50 hobby shops across the U.S. and we are working with a new distributor in Canada to have them stock it for the Canadian hobby shops.
Since our military paint products have been on the market for about 6 months and lots of samples were sent 6 months prior it is almost a year since modelers have had access to our military paints. ANYONE have a model painted or detailed with Tru-Color Paint that can share a picture or 2 with us ? We are still actively seeking pictures for our gallery and advertising pages of any armor, aircraft or ships painted with our colors !
Unlike other manufacturers who have either discontinued lots of colors from their product lines or stopped making new colors available, Tru-Color Paint continues to produce NEW accurate colors every month and plans to continue this for the balance of 2018 and into 2019 ! We also plan to add sets into the product line in time for the IMPS National Convention in August, 2018 being held in Phoenix, AZ.
Any comments or questions are welcome and we respond to every email or thread send us.

Jeff:
Thank you for your reply. We have at least a dozen different light green colors in the railroad, automobile and navy products so we need a little more info. Is the Light Green for WWII or more modern Russian armor and is there any other colors needed for the project ?
We would be happy to send you a few colors to try. Is there any pictures or a FS #'s that is close to the colors you are looking for ? Do the colors need to be flat/matte or can they be glossy for your evaluation ? We ask that since the majority of our railroad and all of the auto colors are high gloss or semi-gloss finish.
Once we settle on the colors, would 1/2 oz. work for you to try ? If yes, send us your address via this thread or email us for privacy.
We would appreciate working with you for paint development.

Being in Canada, I am a little frustrated and concerned. I am frustrated in the overall distribution of AK products, as they are difficult to find. I am also concerned about the price. I have recently seen the new AK Real Colors book in the local hobby shop, and was shocked at the price $140 CDN. Also, when I do find AK products in hobby store, they are normally prices way higher then the similar products. So what does this mean when AK Real Color eventually, or if, they reach us.

Kevin, unless I missed something, in your post you talk about Real Color paints by AK. The topic is about Tru-Color paint which is a different line by Tru-Color, not AK Interactive.

Oops, too many new paints coming out. I have been waiting for AK for so long. As for Tru-Color, have not seen it in Canada, and from speaking to local hobby shop, he will NOT be carrying it. There is enough paint racks already with Tamiya, Vallejo, Testors, etc. He will be bringing in the known names like the AK Real Colors, when ever it gets here, and the new Tamiya Acrylic Lacquer, again when ever it arrives.
The biggest issue with new paint brands is they are not being distributed through the major wholesalers, so smaller stores are afraid to invest into new paint lines where they risk stock issues. For example Mission Paints already sold to smaller online vendors, now when they go to a major distributor, there is no margin left in it to sell to stores.

Semi gloss would be good Martin, and 1/2 would be good.
FS34257, RAL 7028 for lighting it.

We have a couple of colors we would like to send you to try for the Light Green you want. However, we would not use yellow to lighten the color but rather clear flat to reduce the pigment load or a small amount of white. Adding yellow would actually change the color.
If you send us your address we will send you some samples for you to try.
Still would like to know what era is the Light Green on the armor used ? What other Russian tank colors might be important to develop ?

Kevin:
Tru-Color Paint is already being sold in Canada. We have 1 distributor in Ontario who purchases our railroad line of paints for sales to hobby shops in Canada. They will special order the military and automobile paints for any hobby shops who want to carry those lines as well. We also ship our paints to Canada (up to 3.75 lbs. can go first class mail) at least 1-2 times per week to individual customers !
We are also working with a distributor in Alberta to carry the entire Tru-Color Paint product line for sales to the Western 1/2 of Canada. They should be on board in about a month and have a strong presence in the military model arena so they should be able to spread the word about our superior products.
And we understand hobby shops not wanting to invest in another new product line. However, we manufacture every product in Phoenix, AZ and do not rely on imports of any kind in the manufacturing plant. So all of our current products are available NOW - not at some future time. Every color we make is sold in 1 oz. (30 ml) and 2 oz. (60ml) size bottles and the labeling complies with Canadian Customs. Another advantage is that we GUARANTEE our paint products will spray will little or no thinning at 28-35 PSI with a medium tip on the air brush AND are accurate for the model being painted.
