I received a few sample squares of what is called cocoa mat. (unsure if thats
the correct spelling, or the standard name for it). I was told its available at
garden shops and is inexpensive. It has a soft plastic backing and can be
cut to shape with scissors..Ive glued it to bases with both tacky glue and CA.
Once glued I pull up on the fibers to make tall grass.. then kind of trim it to
shape. I havent tried to paint it yet, but it comes in natural greens and browns.
I've tried to take some sharp pictures of it but it doesnt photo well- at least for
me. It looks pretty good in real life though..
Does anyone else use this? If not , and its not too pricey, give it a shot.

Yeah, I remember a chap for a model show telling me about this stuff. He said you have to paint it by airbrush or spray paint. Can't remember which! Never found any though. Mind you the nearest Garden shop is about 15 miles away!
