I plan to,they look interesting,like Tamiya with more colors.

But not entirely inaccurate based on my experience with their Australian Armour cam colours. A black that's dark blue-green, olive drab that's mid sand brown, and a tan that's probably close.

At least they are acknowledging the fact that the vast majority of paints that have been coming from weathering brands have been mere suggestions of the real thing.

I got my sets in yesterday and they seem very promising. The US OD is very nice...thats the only color I opened up yesterday.

Which one? I believe they introduced several ODs in this new line. Anything comparable to classic Steve Zaloga's mix of Tamiya OD (the original one) and dark yellow?

Well, IMHO I can't remember any other paint company willing to contract true and respected experts (including a real professional of the paint industry as Jürgen Kiroff) to get accurate colours. In fact and sadly, I know (many know) first hand how "research" is made at some hobby companies.

I have never been a fan of vinyl paints (except for brush work), but a Tamiya heavy user. If AK is now willing to correct their past errors and, what really matters, getting accurate colours + a wider range in this new acrylic lacquer line, that's OK. Got some bottles and will try them as soon as I get some spare time, specially as some friends speak quite well of their tests.

They airbrush very similarly to Tamiya. I got a grainy finish when thinned with Tamiya lacquer thinner but a smooth one thinned with Mr. Leveling thinner. The paints can be hand brushed easily thinned with water and will not pull up the previous layer like Tamiya. They seem to be "best of both worlds" paint, and accurately matched as well.

They are acrylic, but they are acrylic lacquer, similar to Tamiya acrylics, or Gunze Hobby Aqueous, which are also acrylic lacquers.

I got the chance to airbrush them on the AK stand at Telford. Representative said it was thinned with Mr Cole r self levelling thinner. Sprayed beautifully. He said the paint and thinner had been in the cup for two hours and still sprayed flawlessly. Great range of colours. Just slightly more expensive than Tamiya, so agood price point, which important to a lot of people, me included.
