Just wanted to share with you some work I've been doing, in this case a Turkish Leopard 2 A4 during Operation Euphrates shield.
Apparently ISIS has claimed t have captured these vehicles. Comments and constructive criticism is always welcomed!

First, the reference picture:

And the completed model:

Not just a claim, plenty of footage out there of multiple Turk A4's (and their upgraded M60 version) destroyed by ISIS ATGM's.

Here's just one video but there are multiple others out there. Turks seemed to have had a rough time.

Neat! I've got the HobbyBoss kit in the stash that I've been thinking about doing something different with it, this would be great.

Great idea and excellent finish! I would also be interested in the colors you have used.

Not having any markings on the vehicle helps, too

Thanks for sharing!

Gonzalo, looks very nice, airbrush work sort of reminds me of Tony Greenland where he gets that translucent quality to the camo.

Just one thing, as you asked for constructive criticism - is the turret on straight? Looking at the view directly from front and rear, it looks like it tilts a little.

Cheers, Matthew

Hi Gonzalo, that is a good looking model.
Camo and personal stuff of the crew look very convincing, and it is nice to see the old ESCI kit is still alive.
Did you use the kit's link and length plastic tracks?
What happened to the turret? It sits a bit too high.
Best regards from Germany / Stephan

Sorry but colors and your reference photo is totaly wrong you use a photoshopped version (colors turned down) of vehicle ,Turkish army only using green, sand yellow and little bit nato black color on leopards

Concernign the turret, I guees I might have been badly attached when I took the pictures.

On the colours, I don't really remember the exact mix, as it was made trying to match the reference photograph. It has for sure some afrika corps sand yellow in it and the other shade of brown is the earth brown by Revell.

Concerning tracks, they are the ones that came with the kit. I usually build kits out of the box.

Hi,
there are indeed many photos where the sand/dark green (or sand/dark green/black) camouflage was modified by overpainting the dark stripes with a lighter shade of sand; dark halos from the original camo remain visible.

Boy do I hate Photobucket!

Someone needs to give us some good color matches. The model looks great and I sense inspiration for myself in this.

On another topic, I am really surprised at how easily the Leopard 2A4 is being taken out of the battle(s). The Polish Army and others using the 2A4 should (and probably are) take notice.

Plenty of pics of M1's that met the same fate. Bottom line is that these days, unless you have an active protection system, any modern MBT is vulnerable to anti-tank missiles.

The Leo2’s hull ammo compartment is not compartmentized like the turret ammo compartment, and there is a photo of that very area blown to hell.

Notice the front left of the hull is missing-that’s where the hull ammo is.
