This is a project that took quite a lot of time. The Argentinian VCTP (Vehiculo de Combate de Transporte de Personal) is an IFV based on the greman Marder chasis, developed during the late 70s. It saw combat during the terrorist attack to the Tablada Regiment (the vehicle depicted here) and during peace keeping missions in Kosovo. The model was made using a Tamiya kit which was modified and with the addition of parts from a model by ArMaq (an argentinian firm which used to make a model of this vehicle). Hope you like it, and, as always, comments and constructive criticism are welcomed!

Gonzalo, that is an amazing piece of work. I like to see vehicles that are more than prototypes or paper vehicles like this get built. Beautiful scratch building and finishing.

Eric

Many thanks for your kind comments! For those who like Argentinian vehicles, I hear a rumor that TAKOM is preparing a TAM (Tanque Argentino Mediano | Argentinian Medium Tank) which was developed in conjuction with the VCTP and is also based on a Marder chasis, but with a tank turret with a 105mm canon. Hope it's true!!!!

Hi Gonzalo

Beautiful work. Congratulations!!! I have my own Tamiya Marder waiting on the stash to be transformed into a VCTP. Unfortunately I will have to scratch build the turret and other parts since I do not have the Armaq kit pieces you used.

I have a couple of profiles with some dimensions but I still need more info to get started. Too bad that TAMSE is not in operations anymore.

I hope what you heard about Takom working on a TAM is true. So far the have released the AMX-13/105 and the AML-90 both on EA versions, so follow up with a TAM makes a lot of sense. I'll keep praying.

Regards

Sebastian

You're not alone in your prayers! I'm pretty sure that every single Argentinian modeler is praying too (me included)!!!

The brown color is a mix of Vallejo Model Air USAF Brown + Sand Beige (FS30219+RAL1039) with a 30%+70% proportion (aproximately).

The green colour is Vallejo Model Air US Forest Green (FS34079)

Then everything was washed with a burt siena oil wash.

Hope that helps!
