Hey Guys,

Aussies and German fellow modelers help needed

I felt an unprecedented attraction to the Boxer CRV at first sight...

That beautiful beast ARTEC of Germany has entered in the Land 400 Australian program aimed to replace the ageing ASLAV-25 fleet.

Its contender in the Land 400 program is cool too, but doesn't compare at all with the aggressive, massive and mighty look of the Boxer, IMHO.

There are lots of pictures on the net that could help trigger a scratchbuilding project in 1/35 scale, starting with the Revell GTK Boxer kit as a basis.

But that would require detail pictures of the Lance turret as well as pics of the Boxer roof arrangement that must totally differ from the roof in the Revell kit, to cope with the turret.

That would be a fun build. I have the 1/35 Revell Boxer GTK and I need to have such details to give it a go.

Can you help ?

Pics, blueprints... Any help welcome.

Thanks !

Richard

To save time and maybe frustation, NAHM Modellbau has a 1/35 scale LANCE turret.

But don`t expect no miracles, their casting are not hi quality.

Hans-Hermann...

Do you know you made my day ?

THANKS A LOT !!! This is more than I could have expected ! A conversion kit available ? How is it possible ?

I dropped an email to order

Awesome !

I knew I had to ask here on Armorama, but I didn't expect so neat answers that fast :-)

So it might not take long before I can start this build !!!

Thanks !

You`re welcome. If you get the conversion, can you give a review?
Greg and me like to see if it`s worth buying it. I think these guy is making givaway models for Rheinmetall Defense.

Hello !

I am sorry if I did anything wrong when submitting the review form to admins on november 25,2017. It is not published yet and I can’t wait sharing it with you guys !

So here is the Lance turret resin conversion for the Revell GTK Boxer 1/35 (ref 03093) from NAHM-MODELLBAU (https://nahm-modellbau.de.tl/).

The kit came in a sturdy cardboard box, with lots of protection around, which is cool because it travelled safely from Germany to France.

Before I start, let me tell you this is a short run kit. The casting is rough and I would not recommend this conversion to a beginner. The preparation work will be important there.

The proportions are good and the turret shapes are ok. Antiskid coating is there and good.

Some parts will need heavy sanding, such as the turret itself. As you can see in one of the pictures, the turret base shows an angle that will need heavy sanding to be removed.

The gun muzzle will be very difficult to use as the moulding is thick and approximate there.

The holed gun casing will require a special attention. Bubbles in the casting will need putty filling.

Okay, this is a kit for the experienced modellers.

I think it can turn into a quite decent model but it will need a lot of patient care.

This conversion kit price is 40 € plus postage.

As a conclusion, I would say this is a nice and demanding little resin conversion kit.

Thank you Hans-Hermann and Greg !

Now I can’t wait to get started with this build.

It may not be long before I start this build. And of course I will share it with you guys here on Armorama.

Cheers !

Thanks Richard,

the pics prove my doubts about Nahm Modellbau. I seen his GTK Boxer command vehicle conversion and it was of a similar quality. I planned on purchasing his Tpz. Fuchs A8 but now I stick to scratchbuilding. I guess the amount of work is the same.

You're welcome guys.

As said in the review, the resin casting's a bit rough. It will be very helpful anyway.

I don't know if I will use the whole conversion kit or If I'll use it as a template to scratchbuild my own.

Anyway I'll start building this kit very soon. I wish I could bring it to the Saumur model show I will attend in 2018, it will be May 19 and 20.

Cheers !
