Here are 2 more M-4 Sherman tanks assembled, painted and detailed by Ethan Dunsford of IPMS Craig Hewitt chapter for Tru-Color Paint. Among the colors supplied Ethan were 3 different Olive Drabs, 4 rusts, 2 muds, various flesh tones and other colors to achieve to appearance seen on these exquisite models.
The first Sherman shown Ethan names Warpaint ( his idea) and we think that is great ! The other Sherman is named Axe. Both are painted and detailed in various color schemes to show what can be done with Tru-Color Paint products.
We wish to thank Ethan for his expertise. He has 2 more models of ours to complete - another Sherman and an IDF personnel carrier. Plus he is working on 3 more of his own AFV's using our paint.

So this is now the "one-and-only-true-OD"? Or just another choice of many "one-and-only-true-OD" colors?

The finish of those Shermans is really nice! A depth of colour that really does look like the real thing though possibly more like the patina of a weathered one with 70 years of weathering based on the real ones I've seen.

What I am saying is that we developed about 20 different shades of OD and Ethan compared them to actual WWII tanks in areas that were protected from weathering or repainting overlaps of metal, undersides, etc. and matched 4 shades of samples so that we have a range of pre-war through Korea of the OD colors on armor during that time period.
Tru-Color Paint prides itself on producing one of the most accurate colors for all product lines we manufacture - railroading, automobiles, and military (armor, ships and aircraft). With over 700 colors across all categories we rely heavily on color chips, standards, and experts in their fields to achieve the quality we require for our customers.

Thanks. When several brands are claiming theirs is THE correct OD color, I just wanted to know what you were basing your claims on.
