What kind of tracks are found on this Rhodesian T-55? I am thinking of building the Takom T-55 as one and heard it comes with a less common type of tracks. Thanks.

Tank on photo has omsh tracks which are more common.
But Takom has for some reason decided to provide very rare rmsh tracks.

I had the exact same idea since my father fought in that conflict in the BSAP. Highly irked that the tracks are wrong and its going to cost me yet more money to replace.

Yeah, that's really annoying. I picked up a set of Takom ones for $14 USD, so it wasn't tooooooo bad. Still annoying.

Where did you get them? Ones I found online ended up being $20-25 with shipping.

Hey All,
I to have considered doing a Rodesian tank, from my research they captured 8 of a boat that was going to Angola, just remember that the omsh track used the 13 toothed drive sprocket. 😊
They do have a cool camo pattern though 😊
Cheers Mike

You can't build one of the Rhodesian T-55 from the Takom T-55A kit, as the ones impounded from the ship French ship Astor were Polish built T-55LD. The Takom kit has not the correct engine deck for a Polish built T-55, only for a Czechoslovakian or Russian built tanks. As previously mentioned it does not have the correct OMSh tracks either, but RMSh are included. 10 were impounded, the South Africans kept 2, the rest went to Rhodesia. One still exists and is extensively photo documented.

Would this plus the OMsh tracks fix the problem? https://www.shapeways.com/product/XBSCNZQQZ/1-35th-scale-polish-t-55-engine-deck
EDIT: and also reworking the shape of the back-right vent

Thanks. Looks like the builder didn't completely modify the engine deck to Polish standards, though.
