I’m looking for pics of the tow pintle mount on the Abrams - specifically whether it’s “hollow” or not. Cheers!

I'm leaning toward it being hollow, "U" shaped. after all, one me have need for reaching up inside to tighten a bolt, or remove/replace the tow hook altogether

Yes, it's hollow underneath for that reason. The hook spins in the mount so you can mount it at any angle.

I agree, hollow from the bottom makes sense. Academy's M1 Tusk has it molded that way, Ryefield"s is solid.

So, in other words it's a box with 4 closed sides...rear (with the hole), top, and 2 sides, welded to the rear plate.

Thanks guys - just hollowed out and backfilled the tow pintle mount on the Tamiya 1/16 Abrams based on your feedback. Thank you!
