Ok what was used to hold tracks on the Shermans.Where can I get the after market products? Also I have lots of books and the Shermans I have seen rarely have stars on them mainly a name for the tank , Division, unit and company also serial #s.So is it nesscasary to include the stars.Anyone know where I can get the 76mm barrel with the muzzel brake for the sherman Metal of course.
Thanks

If you are speaking of track sections added to the hull and turret as added armor, they were simply welded on. For storage of spare track, they were bolted on, the bolts were welded in place. You could use any aftermarket bolt head to replicate this or make your own out of hexagonal rod cut thinly. As for stars, some units had them, some didn't. You can base it on referance photos of what you are representing. Try Jordio Rubio or Barrel Depot for replacement metal barrels.

Track sections on hulls and turrets were normally just tack-welded onto the tank. That's why the guide horns are in contact with the vehicle surface -- just a couple welds on the top guide horns held a section fairly well.
Stars on combat vehicles were often painted over with OD or black -- the big white stars provided aiming points for enemy gunners. Look closely at period photos and you'll often see the black stars.
Jordi Rubio makes a nice 76mm M1A2 gun with optional muzzle brake or thread protector. Order part TG-32. Should run about $14 or less.
