Just wanted to say Hey, and thanks for the great site and forum. I have recently become active in modeling after a few years hiatus. I havent actively done this in many moons, so your techniques and ideas are welcome.
I am a WWII junkie and I am primarily interested in allied armor from the period.

Here is what I bring to the table:

I am, and have been a tanker for the past 13 years, I can give you all kinds of help regarding current U.S. armored and soft skin vehicles (please dont ask me questions that could cause me to lose my security clearance)

I am stationed at Ft Knox, and have access to the Patton Museum. If you have any needs for specifics on the vehicles there, I can probably help. I am trying to become a volunteer for the museum, but my work schedule doesnt allow it right now, HOWEVER, I do know several people that are restoring the vehicles, and help out every once in a while so I can get inside vehicles if necessary .

Thanks for reading,

John

Welcome to ArmoramA John. I'd warn you that this site can become very addictive, but a warning wouldn't help, so welcome

Let me greet you with a warm welcome John!!! :-)
Glad to have you on board.
I too enjoy WWII allied vehicles. Mostly and almost exclusively US armor.

I may just need some pics of the M4A3 105mm...I think it's there?

I could use just about any pics of her John. Front, side, rear, deck, turret. If you could get one from inside the turret that would be great. Always looking for more reference pics...

Not a problem.
I'll get some as soon as I can get back to the restoration yard
(they have sooooooooo much more than they show in the museum)

On a different note, they have a SEVERELY battle scarred M4 in the yard. I'll get a few pics of that also

That would be awesome John!!!
Like I said I (and I'm sure others) could always use more reference photos. If you have any problem hosting them let me know. I have a couple of sites where I can host them. Nearly 300Megs. of empty space...

John,
Welcome to the site. It's always great to have another experienced user on the site. I hope you enjoy using the site and thanks for your offer of assistance to the group. Good luck getting the spot at the museum.

Cheers,
Jim
