I have recently started using the Tamiya modern stowage set on some of my Abrams tanks. There are two issues that I've run into. One, some of the items seem to be hard to attach because there is minimal contact points between the ruck sack and the turret. I was able to glue them with plastic cement, but at slightly odd angles so that there would be maximum contact (plastic to plastic).

The second issue is that the pieces are hollow at the back. For the ruck sacks, not much of a problem as most of the back is hidden when attached to the turret side. But for the duffel bags, the empty space shows when stowed upright. Is it a simple matter of filling the hollow space with putty?

Any tips on tackling the above two issues will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Regarding your first point, the stowage would be attached via straps so adding those might help with fixing it to the model. Otherwise they look as though they are attached by magnetism. Epoxy putty (Milliput, Magic Sculpt etc.) is your best bet for filling the hollow backs. Avoid solvent-based types as they will take forever to dry if used on a deep cavity.

Thanks guys. I'll try the Milliput.

You could also try using some off-cuts from sprue's etc to bulk out the cavity and then finish off with the putty.

Ive been using tacky putty. Gives me a chance to keep changing the placement and driving myself crazy.
