Good morning!
I'm new here; apologies if this has been discussed previously.
I'm building Takom's Maus V1, intended to represent the V1 at rollout December 24, 1943. No handrails on the dummy turret, no taillight inside the shroud (reflector only), no exhaust deflectors, external fuel tank mounted. I'm assuming overall red primer, with three chalk markings, one each on the sides of the hull and front of the turret.
Questions: (1) Does anyone know what the marking on the dummy turret says? (2) Does anyone know what the interior of the dummy turret looks like? It does not appear that the shell as Takom models it would duplicate the weight of a complete and loaded turret; I'm guessing there was a weight inside. (3) What color was the external fuel tank?
Thanks.
George

I think the dummy turret was a more or less solid casting of concrete to get the required weight

Without a better idea or a picture, a box filled with concrete or a stack of steel plates would be sensible proposals, the former being easier for Alkett if the weight was achievable. As various photos show riders standing close to the endwalls the interior structure would necessarily end short of each end.
Thanks.

I have the German version of this --- who knew there would be a US printing at about half the price ...
Great volume, though, and very useful.
Thanks.

There is a guy building a Maus with interior and doing massive research. FlorinM I think is his callname. You might want to contact him. His build is easy to be found. He has like 20+ followers.
Good luck with your project!
