Looks like a good set. Interesting though as the one "correspondent" with the Ak is no longer "just an observer", but a combatant. You can't objectively report on a war with a gun in your hands.

Yes I agree he is rather a war photographer (many of them are armed in Syria as Mr Google shows), I mean a freelancer or someone who works freely for press agency, or even bodyguard of correspondent. Sorry after a few weeks of sculpting five new figures continously and next two spending painting them I was really exhausted to think about the names of the products, but of course it is not so important I hope and you can use him as anyone else. I disagree with you there sir. Many reporters carried weapons during the Vietnam War. More recently, Patrick O'Donnell carried an M16A4 while he was with the Marines in Fallujah in November 2004. His book 'We Were One: Shoulder to Shoulder with the Marines Who Took Fallujah' is one of the best accounts anyone has written about Phantom Fury.

These are amazing figures. And probably next on my to buy list.

I'm even tempted with some of the WW2 German stuff, which really isn't my area of interest.

Not saying it doesn't happen, but I feel it shouldn't. You can't objectively take pics and write stories if you are too busy fighting. You can also become biased to one side or the other.




Looking at the actual pic, I'm guessing the guy on the right is actually her security force/body guard/interpreter. He looks more military than correspondent.

The photos of the reference photo used for your master making is spot on.

I am sure the AK could easily be dropped and slung satchel or camera bag could be put in its place in the drop of a hat by a modeller.

Correspondents on the run. One gets shot doing something careless and stupid and their network bozos spend 48 hours promoting his/her bravery. And not one of them can do the work of Earnie Pyle. I loved the book that was written about him, comparing Pyle to dashing Ernest Hemingway. For Hemingway, his coverage was all about him, while for Pyle it was about the troops who had no say about being there.

I think you might want to look into Ernie Pyle's death before you talk about careless.
