Me again guys.
Been working on this for a while.Bought the Italeri dock with stairs a while ago.Found it to be a little short,so got the rest of the dock.Very nice for the price. The dock alone comes with 2 sections.Keeping 1 for something later.Lost the beginning photos. Here's what I have.Needed buildings in the back.Foam core, balsa, clear package acrylic and assorted roof pieces. Not sure what vehicles yet, sort of the cart before the horse.First layer of Envirotex applied.

Those buildings look great.
I've been working on a fish market diorama using the Italeri dock and a bunch of 1/32 Aoshima and Fujimi sets.
I haven't gotten the dock with stairs yet, any problems cutting open the dock to fit the stair parts?

What a great idea. I like the old man sitting on the steps. He needs a dog and a fishing pole.
I'm following this one.

Hi guys,it's about 2 feet wide.I really haven't considered where it would be.Has to be in France now cause the signs are French.Suggestions??
The back buildings I think are done.Added curtains and glass.
Working on the grandparents and kid giving him one more fishing trip before they leave town.
Plan on German prisoners on one side.
Waves will turn to totally clear overnight.
Tom ,Merry Xmas,Santa comes tomorrow.Kinda know my gifts.I order in advance and let my daughter pick what she wants to give give. That way I forget everything in the order.
Have to re-look at my lighting.Skin always looks yellow.Sorry.

Hi all,
Just an update.
Waves painted and coated with Future.Fishing rods done, prisoners done and grand parents.
Next is to finish painting the base and cut the black to fit the back of the buildings.
Tried a tank on the road, but found it blocked too much.Ordered smaller vehicles today.

Thanks guys,
Have some updates ,but the photos didn't turn up well.
Try to get some later.
Jerry,I do tend to do a lot of figures and I don't know why.
I'm not good at them.It just seems all my dio's need them.

Hi,back again.
Still a slow process.
Added some figures and the truck.Left the canopy off the truck and making the supports with styrene strip.
Working on a Humber armoured car from Bronco.
I think I'm done with Bronco .Far too many and extremely tiny parts that don't fit well.Instructions are terrible.A lot you would never see on the finished kit.The engine and suspension could take a week and I don't have the patience.Leaving a ton of parts off.

You really do have a knack with figures & crowds Tom, I love all the busy-ness like you had in the North Africa dio too. Maybe a seagull or two on the wharf posts? I particularly like the guy taking a micro-nap on the extreme left
Any plans for some daylight shots when it’s finished?

Thanks guys,
Love the idea of seagulls.
Outside shots when the temperature here gets above bitter cold.
I'll wake that guy up for the finish.

Hi Tom - looking great as your builds always do! I really like the different elevations - nice! And like Tim said, lots of people and activity - give it a very convincing look.
Now - we need to wait for a nice sunny day!
Cheers

Thanks Nick,
I seem to get carried away with the figures and I don't know why because I'm not real good at the painting.
Almost done.Weathering vehicles today.Starting to glue things down.
Really like the idea of Seagulls, but can't seem to find them.
Anyone one know?
Tom
Sun came out for about a hour and hasn't stopped snowing.

Tom,
Love what your doing with this. You've inspired me to start searching for some of those dockside elements myself! Looking forward to the finish.

Well Tom keep getting carried away with your peoples, it works for us! As for seagulls, two ideas (1) farmyard chickens pared down (2) Ask Jerry. Come to think of it Maarten might be in the market for his amazing U-boat pen dio.
OK with the sun you’ve got a reasonable excuse at that latitude! How about Daylight globes/bulbs? The best one I ever had was an non-eco-correct “blue light” from (of all things) an Embroiderers emporium, it lasted for years & meant I could trust colours mixed/painted in the evenings, as well as photography.
