Hello everyone,
the P-40 "Longtrack"-radar of the Soviet Union in scale 1:35.
This is a conversion kit of the Czech company Panzershop, consisting of resin- and 3 large frets full of huge photo etched parts,
The base kit is the AT-T Artillery tractor of Trumpeter. Further details coming from Friul (metal tracks), Voyager (etched parts), MiniArt (new engine kit) and the engine cooler is a separat kit of Panzershop.
First I have modified the hull, which is consisting of the trumpeter part, cut and extended with panzershop's resin parts. Added further details...
Also mounted the engine cooler ... a small kit itself
Cheers
Micha

Nice! Keep the pictures coming since I am most definitely interested in how this guy goes together. The P-40 has been on my wishlist for quite some time now, but until now I have been hesitating to jump in on it...
Was building their full resin BAT-M about 10 years ago and with some work and patience you can get some nice results with Panzershops kits IMO.

Hello,
Some progress here ....
I have replaced the engine with the much better one of MiniArt ... the transmission is trumpeter, the engine MiniArt, the cooler Panzershop.
Some painting at the interior of the engine compartment.
New dashboard, further details at the cab inside and outside ....
First details around the engine hood ....
Cheers

Hi everybody,
some more details at the cab and at the front ....
And some first works at the super strucutre. Drilled open the two round windows and added clear plastic foil as glass.
Also added the handles made of copper wire.
Next - some more resin- and etched parts at the super structure, etched engine cover, antennas ....

Very nice job so far. This vehicle is really appealling but in the same time its huge antenna is too scaring for me to build one.

Hello everybody,
and one more update. Most of the parts on the super structure are installed now.
The radar antenna on the driver side / front is made new with brass tubes from Albion Alloys as the kit offers no extracted version.
The engine hood is made of etched parts from Voyager and is fully foldable. The tracks are Friul Metal tracks, also ready for painting.
The huge antenna and the jib are both made of many, many small, smallest and huge etched parts which were all soldered. A brass tube is installed in the base to keep the radar turnable.
Some cables, wiring etc. will follow at the antenna, as well as some further small stuff at the car itself ...
Cheers

Fantastic build so far! I must admit, the kit is very attractive and equally terrifying

Have eyed this kit since it's announcement. (Even considered trying to scratch build it before that!)
Wow! Well done! Will follow with great interest.

Hello! The two circular windows on the cargo / muffler roof are not black, opaque, grayish white. In all ventilation openings, when left open, there must be a protective cover. All five of the pile rods /trakc/ are missing. Regards, Gábor.

@Gabor:
The area behind the window is only primed, not painted in the final color.
Adding the covers ot all the open hatches already now would be a bad idea ... damaging during the work.... not being able to paint under it.... ==> All these are mounted later of course.
Which pile rods do you mean?

That radar screen must of taken a bunch of hair pulling.
A wow build on this what appears to be a monster of a conversion.
Cheers

Hello! The extinguisher has a leather strap (black or dark brown), only the buckle metal.
