Hi all
I was wondering if Scammels used in North Africa were painted "sand" color in the interior, or if this was left in the normal green color.
I tried searching the internet, but no pictures from the cabin was found.

The general rule for softskins was that the interior was painted the same colour as the exterior _at the time of manufacture_ and that they were not to be repainted if the camo scheme changed later.

Now, crews and RSMs were known to ignore this both interms of individualising their vehicles (I know of interiors painted in many colours of exterior house paint) and for the sake of keeping crews busy and out of trouble.

But the basic rule is the interior was painted the same as the exterior at time of manufacture and was not to be repainted later.

yes you can see the darker colour inside and where the curtains were pulled shut when spraying also a line on the tpo of the rear door didnt bother with the wheel masking set either

Interesting to see how the rubber on the tank road wheels flexed, start at 1:30 and watch to 1:40
I counted to three different tire tread patterns for the Scammell + trailer (trailer right side different from tractor right rears, tractor front different from tractor rear, different pattern on tractor left rears)

The smooth steel plate on the trailer platform looked slippery, judging by the way they walked when getting up on the trailer.
Smooth steel plate makes it easier to pull a tank with blocked tracks up the ramp...

Recovery of bogged down tank is as "simple as a Hollywood divorce" hmmmm ....
