MM makes a color called "Jet Exhaust". I've got both the enamel and acryl types. No "FS" number, but the acryl # is 50196

In the ModelMaster Acryl line is: Jet Exhaust #4676.
In MM Enamel : Anthracite Grey Metelic #2711
In MM Metalizer Lacquer is: Burnt Iron Non-buffing Metalizer #1424

I have them all but have never used them.

I think he had the Anthracite gray metallic, but I wasn't sure what it was, and neither was the shop owner, and how is it Chuck and Sabot have different numbers, and Animal is that what you are talking about the same as Chucks burnt iron non-buffing metalizer #1424, you guys talking the same, or different. Chuck could you tell me more about this Anthracite gray metallic for it doesn't mention anything for burnt metal look. Thanks again Oh I forgot to mention, it doesn't haft to be MM, I had just heard I think that it was, just as long as it is a good believeable looking burntmetal look, I'll be satisfied, but he sells MM, plus the 1/4 Testors, Tam. Badger, and I can't think of the other brand right now.

The Anthracite Grey Metelic #2711 is a metalic looking grey which drys flat. In the bottle I think it does have a burned look to it. As I said, I've never used it. My LHS is 60 miles away, so I can't check for a while, but I don't remember seeing a "burnt metal" color name. So I think animal and I are probably talking about the same paint. Perhaps you could IM animal and ask what number is on his bottle.

I thank all of you for helping me on this, cause I don't know why, but Testors distributes Italeri models here in the US, or that is what they claim on their boxes, and they said to use MM 1567 tan to paint the tank, and the guy at the hobby shop looked in the book, and said that number doesn't exist in MM paints, and when I told him about jet exhaust and burnt metal, he said it didn't either, you think maybe his book is missing a bunch of pages, but now that you guys give me some numbers I can tell him I'm not making it up.

according to the Italeri box it is Testors model masters 1567 flat tan, and the other two colors they say to paint the marder 3 is 1764 MM European green, and 1701 MM Military Brown the 1764, and the 1701 has FS numbers, but the 1567 doesn't, I'm reading this off the directions.

Real good Ben and Shaun, I'm sorry about not getting back sooner, but I got to looking at the one Shaun posted, and I noticed the gun metal, and I got a gun metal, but it has a different number, then I realized it wasn't a mistake, they are two different gun metals, with the one you posted as a metalizer, and mine is not, now my number is # 1795, and it has a real blue tint to it, but I was wondering if the metalizer if it did to being number # 1423, probably not, so that might be something to consider when somebody is looking for the gun metal with the blue tint, that it is the MM # 1795, and I have no idea what the MM #1423 gunmetal looks like though, maybe somebody else can help on this, but remember there is two of them.

I use burnt metal buffing metalizer which has a dark grey metallic look and can be buffed out to a greater shine. Look af the Barbarian's shield in my gallery for an example of that. It also works nicelly for gun barrels where you want a bit more sheet.
Burnt iron metalizer is not a buffable color. It has a reddish undertone and I use that as a bse for rusted or oxidized metal, such as exhausts. hey are quite different colors.
