Hi all,
I've bought the Tamiya Sturmtiger, together with a Aber exterior PE set.
Now before I start buiding: Is there anything I should be aware of? I mean mistakes in the kit, or any fitting trouble with the PE set?
Thanx in advance, John.

Not much to worry about on this kit ...it is just Tamiya at its best...Just take your time with the rifling in the barrel .Have fun with it..I know I did...

I am building the Italeri version. Very nice interior, but the tracks are a challenge. Also, I would have hoped that the hand winch had more detail, it does not and you are forced to improvise. You get six main gun rounds which are pretty cool. Does Tamiya have the rounds?

Tamiya makes a set of turned aluminum rounds for the Sturmtiger.

Correct, but they cost $16 a set! Make your own out of wooden dowels or balsa. Italeri version comes with six.

You do get 4 rounds with the Tamiya kit ..and the worst thing is that they are better detailed than their turned aluminum rounds that cost a fortune.

The other "challenge" with the Italeri kit is the track. These are plastic segments that you have to glue into place. They fit over the drive sprockets well but there is a gap when you place the sections on the top and try to connect to the drive ones. Looks terrible and requires some mud to look sorta okay.
