Hi there

Blimey Jim! As the others have said, this is really an honour!

Jim, don't feel glum - you've created something SO special here on Armorama! There just isn't another site like it. I certainly agree with the previous posts that all the Armorama membership deserves a pat on the back - this place really is the best modelling community... bar none!

I don't quite go along with the idea of general apathy... a lot of people are keen to submit stuff, but just shy or unsure how to go about it. It's really encouraging when a bit of gentle persuasion and encouragement results in a new review (or whatever)!

There are a lot of people (me for one) who don't have a modelling club in their area. I was pretty much resigned to modelling in isolation (and that was slowly fizzling out...) until I found Armorama. This is the kind of place that, once found, you don't want to leave; the question is how to make sure more people get to know about us...

I'm printing up some flyers that my local model shop has agreed to distribute :-) , but the real answer is to make sure we rank high on web searches. Things have got massively better lately and if we can pin down a way of making our content "search engine friendly", I think the we'll see a huge increase in interest.

In the past, there's been a worry about "How do we attract "big name" modellers to Armorama?"... well, in Aircraft at least, we've got them! (Bryan deserves special credit for this). This will hopefully lead to a "Critical Mass" effect, where Armorama is "the place to be seen"!

Glum? The future's so bright, I've gotta wear shades! :-)

All the best

I couldn't agree more, but I doubt if we'll ever get him to wear the medal...

Congratulations to those fine gentlemen and you to Jim. I have learned so much in the short time I've been here. I would really like to be more of a help on the site and am willing to whatever is needed. However I have a problem that I think many of us oldtimers have, 40 years modeling experience and 2 years of hunting and pecking on this infernal P.C. I wouldn't have a clue how to write an artical or anything like that. I'd gladly face those DML indy track links than trying to master this Darn contraption. Maybe a good tutorial would be how to write an artical or something that could help us help you. Standing by Sir! With lots of heart but no talent.
