The C8 is a licence built version of the M4. Colt Canada improved the design. The bolt and flash suppressor are slightly different but outwardly look similar. There are versions like the C8A1 and A2/A3 that have different colour furniture and rail mount. The barrels are all 14.5" like the M4 as far as I know. I think you will be ok using M4s but I would suggest seeing which particular units used the A1 or A2. One of the versions had green, not tan, furniture. Note the A3 has a slightly longer barrel at 15.3"

What you would be looking for is the C8A3 for your Canadian Leopard 2A4M CAN...fitted with a vertical foregrip, EoTech sight, and likely some version of AN/PEQ-2 Target Illuminator.
Back a few years ago I mastered a set of Canadian C7 rifle and C8 Carbine versions in 1/35 for the now closed Maple Leaf Models. I was very happy with the 1/35 rifles and carbines. Unfortunately the set is no longer available...well...except in mine and other peoples stashes!
You could use a Live Resin flat top M4 and add the accessories. You'll probably have to pay more in the end for all the little bits than it would be worth.

Close...the C7 was parallel to the M16A2. The C8 was adapted from the basic C7.

The Black Dog Model...Canadian Soldier Team in Afghanistan set has a figure with a C8A2 with Elcan sight and a figure with a C7A2 with an Elcan sight. That is likely the closest you will get OOB for a Canadian C8.
