I worked on this in between a review build and commission work. It is roughly based on these two BAE prototypes.
I'm calling this one finished until I get the CROWS from Brent Sauer. I am split between painting this Sand or NATO 3 color? I'm also debating if I want to make this an ambulance or not. Let me know what you think?

Hi Pete - wow, really nice build, great to see - thanks very much for posting - as for the color, I'd like to see this in sand. I think the detail might read more clearly than if you choose the darker color scheme -
Cheers

Nice styrene work Pete.
Just curious, what did you use for references? Looks to be more than the Mk 1 eyeball and some photos.

Excellent workmanship.
I wonder if you would use a different configuration of rear door to give better access to the crew compartment if you were designing the ambulance ?

Richard,
The rear of the Ambulance is the same rear as a regular Bradley. of course you have the external fuel tanks. Instead of a stowage rack above the ramp, I believe it is an air conditioning unit or some sort of filtration system that is mounted there and rubber matting is placed on the ramp for good traction..

This is by Wissam C. Azzam and it is what got me the inspiration to build mine.

Do a NATO three tone with the earth colored IR panels. Sort of like this...

Pete, that's quite a conversion you've done there. I have been following the development of this vehicle for a while. Now MENG or maybe Takom will tackle one. I can't wait to see some paint on it.

Eric

I think that rubber matting is a “trade show special” and not fitted to an in-service Vehicle.

Did a lot of work on this beast since the last update. I went with the sand color after all. It brought out a lot of the detail work and bolt detail. I need to paint the rubber on the road wheels and paint the tracks. Since this is a prototype vehicle, it is not going to have a lot of weathering, but the tracks will have some dust from trial runs. I also want to add all the straps to the two stowage racks. Last will be the CROWS system as soon as I finish paying of Brent Sauer for all the stuff I am getting from him.

You would not BELIEVE how convoluted and thick headed the Army has been about coming to the OBVIOUS conclusion that in order to "divest" itself of all M113 platform vehicles, that the place to start with replacement vehicles was with a Bradley and simply modify them, in much the same way that the ORIGINAL M113s were to CREATE the original Command Post Vehicle, Ambulance, Field Treatment Vehicle and Mortar Carrier. I worked as a contractor with PEO Ground Combat Systems and remember coming out of a Teleconference with the former Vice Chief of Staff of the Army during which he said that the Heavy Brigade Combat Teams needed to replace all of the (fairly substantial) number of M113 based vehicles in the TOE. I remarked to one of the PMs that the answer was obvious, but that the way the Army Acquisition process worked, it would take them 10 years to finally get back to the obvious solution. Tick tock.

Sort of. The AMPV Command Post Carrier is a little different w/a taller roof.
Pete is building the Utility Vehicle (APC) version. Check here for more info on the different types coming down the pike.
