First time I've done these for a Tiger I - the Pz II/Pz III & IV are all easy to see orientation based on photos, but which direction are tracks supposed to be on the finished model?
Does that make sense?

If you look on the drawing on the box there is a small extension on the end of the track link. This extension goes on the outside, not on the inside. You can clearly see it in the photo of the tank and track links.

They go in different directions on each side of the tank. And they will fit only one way on the sprocket so you can't go wrong.

Ah ok - I understand the orientation so they will have to be right when the overhang is on the outside and my clipped / glued pins on the inside
Got it
On this subject, I've never done these on a non-return roller tank. Do you guys link them fairly taught with a little sag. I know I can just look at pictures

The Tiger's tracks were very heavy. If you look at a few photos, you'll see that the tracks sits on top of almost all of the roadwheels.

Not much sag really at all I suppose. Will the workable links make it look inauthentic unless the runs are basically straight over the tops of the road wheels?

Hi.
Heavy it is.
A single combat track link (including pin) has a weight of 30,11KG. That is about 2,8 Tons for each side (with 96 links)
The weight for transport track link (including pin) is 21,09KG. Will be about 1,9 Tons for each side (with 96 links)
Regards,
RJ

So I'm still a tad confused about the direction of the tracks .... I'm keeping my built sections separate but even with the pins on the inside, still not sure which direction.
Any front looking (or any appropriate angle) photos illustrating the direction would be great for ATL-25 type Early tracks

Tiger 1 early tracks are not handed. They only fit one way on the sprocket and the left and right sides are interchangeable. The guide horns are offset to the inside of the links, so they go on the side nearest the tank hull.
The Tiger I "initial" track configuration was handed, so they are mirrored. I believe there were very few tanks delivered with the mirrored tracks, and even those would have been changed out to the non-mirrored tracks after the originals wore out.

But these are in two different bags so there is a left/right ..... right? Still trying to post the pics of two runs, side by side, so you guys can confirm. Can I send them to someone to post here???

1. Have you assembled the track already?
2. Look online at pictures of tiger tanks. In this case the Bovington tiger will do fine. Look at the front view of the tank and observe for track orientation.
3. They should only fit one way.
4. Sag amount is a personal choice look at different Tiger photos and decide which is best.
5. If you have already glued the suspension together then the only sag adjustment will be to add or take away links.

keep measuring as you get closer to the length needed...don't add too many links..get it just right .

I have assembled most of one side and half the other - ive worked with Friuls before but for some reason, I cant tell which direction.
It's obvious on the Pz II, Pz III & Pz 4 ---- even the mid/late Tiger tracks have those angled marks on the cleats to go off of.
