my TAS-44m will be something like:
44m tas plan by
Robert Worth, on Flickr
thinking of changing the barrel, perhaps for a T55 (ie post WWII Soviet one) and the engine deck config (closer to T35-85 I think)

Excellent choice, gentlemen!
The Scud carrier will be 1/72 for sure.
Which scale will be the TAS-44M, Robert?

thanks - T-55 barrel purchased BUT now wondering if the hull and turret need "modernising"... dont like the angular nature so will have to think....

Maybe an upgrade in two steps? One immediately after the war and then a new gun some years later (when the T-54 or T-55 guns became available)?
Look at the Soviet object 268 and 704 designs, they are angular.
The story could be that after the war it made sense to do a major upgrade of the TAS, later there was a need for a heavier gun but there was no point in reworking the whole hull. Maybe it was a temporary solution while waiting for something designed by the Soviets or intended for second line units.

Thanks mate!
That`s right - the carrier will be in 1/72. I have the rocket (leftover from TOXSO kit), so I have to stitch a greatcoat to the button.

slowly trying to get my head round this... looking to make a more curved "cast" turret (T-47/T-44/T-54 like) so done a test of this, creating a curved edge and then gluing thin plastic round it... think i may start with the turret (the turret ring will stay the same as the kit so will use the top & bottom as guides and build round it (so cant have hatches open as you would see the original turret shape)......
roll on the start of this build

Will be interesting to see the result, Robert!
What I would also suggest is using Milliput to create those curved areas. It is a wonderfull material that I use very often.

I start my ZIF-55.
I'll use 2 donor kits:
-D sprue from HobbyBoss kit #83845(ZIS-151) for engine, radiator and clutch housing

-MiniArt's ZIS-5 Family Wheel Set(#35196) for the wheels.
The rest will be scratchbuilt.
Building order will be:
1.Power unit
2.Chassy and suspension
3.Compressor with cooling, air and fuel tanks
4.Body

Yovchev, you switched on the turbo again. Hearing.
How about the set of tools used with this type of compressor? You are well received.

everytime i look at my plans i change my mind... now thinking the hull and turret need to be not as tall (not much, lower profile etc) and the turret needs to be slightly further back (looking at the plan I have the drivers hatch wont open past the turret if it is vastly changed.....
i need to get round to attacking the plastic on this...

Here's my starting point:

T-55's engine by Miniart, Minigun barrels, wheels for armoured car, ammo boxes and couple of fuel barrels. Everything else will be scratch built. I'm taking advantage of the "any genre" and making a Mad Max inspired combat vehicle built from various sourced parts.

nice... I have been trying to get my hands on that engine (or one like it)... but am just going with a design of the engine deck instead

Now that is a change from the 109 Pasi. Good to see you on board here.
Need to get my digit out and start drawing up plans and stuff. I'll be away in June, so I need to get cracking.

It is labour Day next Monday here in Queensland Australia. In our weird way, Labour Day is celebrated on different days in the different states in Australia.
Svetoslav, I'll take your word on having done some work.
The first steps of another fine build I am sure Angel.

I'll be using this....

to try to make something like this...

That's Trumpeter's T-55 model 1958 with BTU-55 (#00313) in 1/35th scale.
The plan is a what-if assault tank designed for the hypothetical Soviet assault on Western Europe. I'll probably use a 122mm gun from Dragon's old ISU-152/122 kit.
I want to use the kit's dozer blade. I could see this being used to assault fixed positions, using the gun to blast bunkers while the dozer is used to clear razorwire and barricades. I just need to make sure the main gun will clear the blade.
I need to finish up one or two other builds before starting this one. I look forward to watching the other builds in the meantime.
