I'm working on a new idea now my US civil war dio is nearly finished called "the collector" depicting a militaria collector in his collectingroom.
I'm looking for loose caps (german, US) , jackets, trousers, boots.
There's more then enough helmets, weapons and fieldgear but so far the only uniformparts I have found is a Dragon bonus set which will do fine but is there more?
I searched the net for edged weapons like german daggers but that seems to be a no show.

Some Dragon figure kits featured unsheathed bayonets. A bit long in the tooth but still ok are the old Italeri (Heller reboxes actually) weapons kits that featured Allied bayonets. One of the Italeri US figures kit featured a machete and bayonets. USMC or 101st can't rightly remember.

I assume you are aware Dragon did a few different DS "bonus" jackets? And a pair of boots...

Hans,
Since some uniform items in a "collection" might be posed on a torso manakin, you could just cut uniforms off at the waist below the jacket, remove the head, and straighten and hollow out the arms. You could then place the remaining uniform tunic on a suitable stand (a piece of straight wire and a disk for a base) similar to what you might see in a haberdashery store front. You could have several of these positioned in the room.

Yep, I got that planned and perhaps the ETA items will do the trick. Otherwise I will take your advise.

Very very unique idea and so well executed. Reminds me of the poor guy in Germany that was recently robbed of his collection by the gov't.
Nice !

Hi guys,
Thanks for the kind comments.
No, it's not Elon but I used to know a lot of guys with rooms like this.
My room was more organized because I had a lot. Sold it before I got robbed . Made it possible to retire at 57
As said, I used a lot of stuff and I loved the ETA items and the PE upgrade set with the belts etc.

All power to you for coming up with an original idea & nicely done. On the theme of collectors how about a dio of that German guy who kept a Panther in his underground car-park until it was towed away by the authorities a few years ago? Plenty of kits to choose from at the moment….

Hi Tim, that guy wasn't a collector. At the end of the war he was looking for a place to park his tank and, what do you know, his basement was big enough. As the years went by he forgot all about it. It was towed away because he parked it in a non-parking zone

By the way, ETA added my dio to it's website-gallery.
