It looks promising from the photos online, no ETA, and no mention of interior. Good luck finding the Hobbyfan conversion / update for the Vulcan.
And Legends’ have done an IDF update for this, too.
Happy days

Yup, its a reissue. The original issue was from 1995. It is a very nicely detailed kit; no interior though.

Hi there,
Eduard has an almost complete interior set for this vehicle in photo etch. It is very cheap, especially when compared to resin.

Appears to be a M163 forthcoming from Italeri, too (1/35, U.S. and Israeli markings).

Crazy, I’d completely forgotten that Academy had previously released this kit. Yep, Italeri had covered it off already. Maybe I’ll pick it up this time round...

Unless you have the Hobby Fan M163 Interior set (HF036), I doubt you have the parts for the interior. It is not the same as a standard M113.

This is what would allow for an accurate interior.

Hi Roy,
As stated above, Eduard has a complete interior set, the drum mag, the ammo chutes, the thread plate floor, etc. Yes you have some bending to do but it is an older set and is easier to work with. You can go to www.Eduard.cz and see the PDF instruction sheet, can also print.

If HobbyFan could only re-release their excellent M163 set, that would be brilliant. Especially with a very decent AFV Club ACAV kit, I can only hope for more conversions like the M163, or M74C and M132 turrets.
NB Dragon is said to rekease a M132 Zippo in a few months, but reading here about their IDF M113, it doesn't exactly sound appealing .. I could only find this minuscule image

Maybe one could just use the M132 specific parts with other available M113 kits, like the recent one from AFV Club...I guess it should be doable.

Academy has both an M50 turret and an M132 Zippo turret in their M113A1 ACAV kit. The M50 turret is a little off in size, but the Zippo turret is pretty nice.

So does anyone know if Academy have changed or improved anything from the original release, or is this just a re-box in the new corporate box scheme?
It might have been nice to see some IDF parts included. Academy already have the basic exterior parts for the pre-Stinger version from the Zelda and repair vehicle.
Italeri seem to have re-released their version too in a new box. Is this just a re-box, is it improved or are they now re-boxing the Academy kit?
The VADS turret is also fitted on a version of the KIFV hull: something else that Academy could easily do. But I believe the only user is Malaysia, in a nice tiger-stripe camo.
In fact the KIFV/YPR765 is something Academy could make more of. There are many variants across several manufacturers and many users. But that's a new thread.

Hobbyfan is the specialty resin and "composite kit" branch of AFV Club, and yes they are still in business, but thier items are of a limited run nature. They are rather expensive here in N. America, and are occasionally carried by Merit international, which has a limited HF catalog. Occasionally, they get re-releases of HF items, and can order others. HF has a very nice catalog. They have an arrangement with Academy, and use Academy M113 hull components for their M548, M730 Chapparal and M752 Lance launcher kits, as well as other kits. A few years ago, when Academy introduced it's Korean limited run FSV kit, it had Hobby Fan parts in it for the turret. I'm not sure if it was ever released in the west, but I saw it in Korea in 2001, in a Korean language boxing. The LHS I used to work in carried a lot of HF stuff, which we ordered from Merit, but it was often "hit and miss" in thier stockage levels.

Neither Academy nor Italeri have updated thier kits other than new decals and new boxes. Italeri's is not a rebox of Academy's either. It is the lesser quality Italeri kit.

It's a T 50 turret and very innacurate as you said
