Didn't hear about this one's release. Must be really new.

BTW, no affiliation with either ebay, or Aurora Model Shop, just stumbled on it when browsing.

Thanks for the "heads-up", Leo, but it looks like their previous release with the mine plows added and the cost increased.

Cheers ,
Jan

Well, of course. It's an M1A1 with mine ploughing equipment. Isn't that what other companies do when adding a certain feature to a previously released kit - just toss in another sprue with necessary parts? More parts = increased cost (less than CDN 2.50)

Not to quibble but they say they are "M1A2 SEP's (whatever the difference is ) I was expecting maybe something new(er) but then again they did those two different FT-17's (welded and riveted turrets). I see nothing wrong with taking advantage of what probably is a very nice kit and if the FT's are an example of their work then this new addition should be top notch. Like to see them maybe do an AMX-30 or Leopard or something like that. They aren't dropping their standards like some companies are doing.

I would also rather see a completely new and different kit. Maybe they are just releasing this as a "quickie" while they're developing other kits. In their model ship line (in addition to their 1/700's) they've just announced/released their first 1/350 kit - HMS Prince of Wales. Looks like they're about to take over that scale, too! Maybe some day they will enter the 1/35 market! That will be a dark day for every other manufacturer! I wish Flyhawk much success and longevity in their business - all their products are truly without equal.

Since I've never seen any other their other models I can't comment on the quality. However, if they are anything like the FT's I've built (am building) that is impressive. Being a devotee of Small Scale I feel "LEGO Scale" builders have enough variety and wouldn't want FlyHawk wasting resources on them that could be better used for Small Scale. (LOL )

Speaking of anti-mine things, picked up the following in Hamilton (Warplane Heritage city) the other day for a whopping CDN$17.50! Not FlyHawk quality (a bit soft detail wise) but buildable.

Biggles, see the latest MailCall, it looks like Jim has a sample of it... You'd better get in there quick! Can we expect a build review from you, please?

Flyhawk do only really have three base tank kits, and quite an odd line up it is, although it isn't their principal line, it is true. Perhaps they might convert some of their accessories into full kits as time goes on.

Unfortunately Flyhawk has just included the same decal sheet from their initial M1A2 in their new release. Which means if you want to have both versions in Desert Storm colors, you will have to source some different tank numbers.

Neither version should be in "Desert Storm colors" since the M1A2 SEP was not introduced until about 2000, well after Operation Desert Storm ('90-'91). I think you mean in modern desert sand paint.

Addendum and apology to Flyhawk; I got this information from another website, but I have since realized there are numbers and names for several tanks on the same decal sheet, so there should be no problem.
